How many days after ovulation but before period is a urine test most accurate?how about the blood test?. How about the blood test considering the same period that is between ovulation and day of period.

Solutions:

Answer by TaniaP
Blood tests and home pregnancy tests MAY show a reliable result at 10 days dpo but no guarantees.

Testing too early isn’t recommended – it may lead you up the garden path. You may show negative when you actually are pregnant, or it may show faintly positive but the pregnancy fails to develop and is lost pretty much before it started (known as a “chemical pregnancy”) and results in a lot of confusion and disappointment.

Wait until your period is due for a better indication, those extra 4 or 5 days make all the difference.

Answer by trashqueen72
I was under the assumption that HCG levels didn’t occur untill after the egg had implanted in the womb, may be I was misinformed.

it all depends on when you ovulate in your cycle if you are a 28 day woman, You could do a urine test three days before your period is due, if it comes up positive then wait untill the day after your period was due and test again just to make sure.
If you are not having any early pregnancy symptoms I would just leave it till your period is due or you just start going mad and testing all the time and stressing yourself out.

Blood tests are no more accurate than a urine test at this time

if i start my period 14 days after positive ovulation test does this mean that i did ovulate?. for the last several months, i have been tracking ovulation with test strips and watching my cm. they both tell me i’m ovulating at the same time and i do start my period approx. 14 days after i get a positive lh test so does this mean that i have actually ovulated and just didn’t conceive.

Answer by Stella
This would be my assumption- especially because I’m in the same exact boat! I decided to start charting my BBT this month though just as some “insurance”. Thats the only way to really confirm it.

When is period expected after ovulation with Clomid?. I got a positive opk on Friday November 28th. So I probably ovulated the 29th. Today is 14 DPO. This is my first cycle on Clomid. I usually get real bad PMS…bloating and cramping. I don’t have any of that, but tender breasts. It’s a high chance that I could be pregnant right? especially being on Clomid and not getting it after 14 DPO?

Abundance of clear, watery mucus/discharge 2 days after period. Early ovulation or due to sex?. My period ended about a a day and 1/2 or 2 days ago, and I’ve been having a lot of clear/watery discharge/mucus, and I’m wondering could this be a sign of early ovulation or can sex cause this? I’ve had sex the last 3-4 days in a row or so.

Solutions:

Answer by queenbee0687
I doubt the sex has anything to do with it, you can ovulate while your having a period so thats probably what it is.

Answer by Dawn M
if it’s just after ur period then its ovulation, do not have sex on these days if u are not on the pill… this is when u are highly to get pregnant!

Answer by Vicky
This is probably imminent (early) ovulation and if your cycles are on the short side, around 25 days, then I’d say that’s almost certainly it. Ovulation occurs around 14 days before your next period, and the EWCM you’re describing is most abundant about 3 days before ovulation.

What days does ovulation take place after your period?. My last period started on March 8th. So when would my ovulation start?

Solutions:

Answer by Anna
anywhere from the 21-26 Im assuming you have a 28 day cycle if not just add days to it

Answer by saskia
Well, the answer is different for every woman. And without knowing how long your own cycles typically are, it’s impossible to say. The best way right now to guess when you’re ovulating is to know how long your cycles usually last. Your cycle is divided in three parts–(a) the time from when your period flow begins to the day before you ovulate, (b) the day you ovulate, and (c) the day after ovulation until the day before your flow begins again. Generally this last phase is the one that stays most consistent, at between 11 and 15 days for healthy women, and not usually varying by more than a day or two for each woman. For instance, if you know that your cycle is usually 30 days, then you could count back from 30 to see that you might ovulate somewhere between cycle day 15 and day 19. You’re most fertile in the three or four days leading up to and including the day of ovulation. If you want to know more accurately what your own specific third phase length is and when your own body is ovulating, then you should learn how to monitor your cervical fluids and chart your basal body temperature changes each day.

How many days after ovulation do you get your period?

How many days after ovulation do you get your period?. What part of the cycle decides how long it your whole cycle will be? I know all cycles are different for different women but where does the variance occur? Is it the days from your last period to ovulation or the days from ovulation to your next period? If I use an ovulation predictor kit and it says I ovulate today will conception happen in one week and implantation one week from conception and my missed period be one week from implantation? Or can ovulation, conception and implantation be further apart than one week?

Let me know if I’m not being clear enough in my question.

14 days after ovulation you should have your period.

Answer by yellowbastard

Answer by Tara B
You ovulate two weeks after your period and two weeks before before your next period.

Answer by 4kkz
The time after you Ovulation is called the Luetal phase or LP and that is generally 10-16days. The time before ovulation can be 10days, 30 days, but the average is 14 days. I’m not ‘average’ as I O on day 20, but always start my period 14 days after that.

Answer by grace_under_pressure2001
Typically you ovulate miway through your cycle. During a 28 day cycle you should ovulate on day 14. This can vary and be a little early or later. The key concept according to my OB/GYN is that the luteal phase is 14 days long (see below for further information). He recommends having sex between CD8 and 18 every other day if you are trying to get pregnant (CD= cycle day, counting CD1 as the first day you start your period).

Here is some better information that I hope answers your questions:

A woman’s monthly cycle is measured from the first day of her menstrual period until the first day of her next period. On average, a woman’s cycle normally is between 28-32 days, but some women may have much shorter cycles or much longer ones. Ovulation can be calculated by starting with the day the last menstrual period (LMP) starts or by calculating 12-16 days from the next expected period. Most women ovulate anywhere between Day 11 – Day 21 of their cycle, counting from the first day of the LMP. This is what many refer to as the “fertile time” of a woman’s cycle, because sexual intercourse during this time increases the chance of pregnancy. Ovulation can occur at various times during a cycle, and may occur on a different day each month.

The Ovulation Cycle Divided into Two Parts:
The first part of the ovulation cycle is called the follicular phase. This phase starts the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP) and continues until ovulation. This first half of the cycle can differ greatly for each woman lasting anywhere from 7 days until 40 days. The second half of the cycle is called the luteal phase and is from the day of ovulation until the next period begins. The luteal phase has a more precise timeline and usually is only 12-16 days from the day of ovulation. This ultimately means that the day of ovulation will determine how long your cycle is. This also means that outside factors like stress, illness, and disruption of normal routine can throw off your ovulation which then results in changing the time your period will come. So the old thought that stress can affect your period is only partly true. Stress can affect your ovulation which ultimately determines when your period will come, but stress around the time of an expected period will not make it late—it was already determined when it would come 12-16 days earlier!

From the Menstrual Period to Ovulation (the details you may not know!)
When your menstrual cycle begins, your estrogen levels are low. Your hypothalamus (which is in charge of maintaining your hormone levels) sends out a message to your pituitary gland which then sends out the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). This FSH triggers a few of your follicles to develop into mature eggs. One of these will develop into the dominant follicle, which will release a mature egg and the others will disintegrate. As the follicles mature they send out another hormone, estrogen. The high levels of estrogen will tell the hypothalamus and pituitary gland that there is a mature egg.

A luteinizing hormone (LH) is then released, referred to as your LH surge. The LH surge causes the egg to burst through the ovary wall within 24-36 hours and begin its journey down the fallopian tube for fertilization. The follicle from which the egg was released is called the corpus luteum, and it will release progesterone that helps thicken and prepare the uterine lining for implantation. The corpus luteum will produce progesterone for about 12-16 days (the luteal phase of your cycle.) If an egg is fertilized, the corpus luteum will continue to produce progesterone for a developing pregnancy until the placenta takes over. You can begin looking for pregnancy symptoms as early as a week after fertilization. If fertilization does not occur the egg dissolves after 24 hours.

At this time your hormone levels will decrease and your uterine lining will begin to shed about 12-16 days from ovulation. This is menstruation (menstrual period) and brings us back to day 1 of your cycle. The journey then begins all over again.

How many days after ovulation do you start your period?. Okay here is my story……….I had my period on the 4th of Feb. For my normal 4 days. I had a normal period. On the 17th-19th I had a discharge of a pink mucus discharge only when I wiped on and off for the few days. Nothing major to use a pantyliner for or anything. Just when I wiped it was there. Not bloody like a period just pink mucus so I was assuming it ovulation. Now it is March 8th with no period as of yet. My cycle is not regular as of yet since I was on Depo for a few years. I started ovulating back in November after being off it. But now I am having symptoms like my AF is going to start but nothing yet. So my question is how many days after ovulation do you start having your AF. I think it was to early for implantation bleeding but I’m not sure. Please help?????

Solutions:

Answer by Sunshine
your period follows ovulation by 14 days generally, you may be pg, i would wait about 1 week and test if your af doesn’t show best wishes

Answer by Michelle
Always 14 days after.

Answer by falfalmgal
I am in the same situation you are. I am pretty sure I ovulated on the 19th, period 4th, and haven’t received my period yet. I took a pregnancy test but it said I wasn’t pregnant. I feel like my AF is coming and if you do to, just wait a week. If no AF, then take a pregnancy test. Good luck if you want a baby, and good luck if you didnt. Peace.

Answer by wonderwomen
omg im having the same situation e-mail me so we could talk

Answer by LoveMyKids
You typically start your period 14 days after ovulation but it is hard to know that exact date unless you know exactly when you ovulated. Based on the pink mucus discharge it would seem you ovulated around the 18th which would be right on time if you have a 28 day cycle. You should have started your period approximately 14 days after the 18th or 19th.

The way your cycle works is like this:
Take your number of days in your cycle (28 etc)
Subtract 14 days – That should be your peak day to ovulate unless you are stressed etc.

So if you have a regular cycle you should be able to figure out within a day or so which day you will ovulate and which day you will start your period.

Just as a heads up, both times I was pregnant I felt like I was going to get my period. I had the same exact symptoms. I would take a pregnancy test to be sure.

Hope that helps!

With the ovulation test reusable FERTILCONTROL, this cristallization appears like an structure of fern, with a bigger number of ramifications or branches, when it is more near of the moment of the ovulation and with a smallest number of them when we are far of this day. Out of the fertile period, we can observe a structures like burbles or points. This will help the couple in a very simple and efficient to obtain the desired pregnancy in a natural way. The women’s fertile period is between 3-4 days before and 1 days after ovulation. Ovulation (release of the ovule by the ovary) occurs once in each menstrual cycle. It takes place approximately 14 days before the first day of menstruation, could result in another day if you have irregular cycles. There is scientific evidence that there is a direct correlation between the increase of estrogen and the timing of ovulation. This hormone is present in urine, blood and saliva. When dried a drop of saliva on the microscope FERTILCONTROL if it has high levels of estrogen present minerals crystallize in the form of ferns.

ok im a little lost here, so it takes 14 days for your period to start after ovulation? or right off the bat?. ok, i hear the your ovulation starts 14 days after your period stops. then it takes another 14 days for it to start again after ovulation is over? im understanding this ok? im sorry if i seem like a der-der here but im very new to this all and never really looked into til now. so yeah.

Answer by ZeeLee
generally, you will menstruate 14 days after you ovulate.

If your cycle is longer than 28 days, for example if it’s 35 days, then you ovulate 21 days after your first day of bleeding. This ovulation triggers your next period at 35 days (14 days later).

However, all women are different, and some take longer to ovulate and less time to bleed, or vice versa. What i’ve stated above is the average over a large number of women.

Answer by Stephanie M
A good book to read if you really want to learn a lot in detail is Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. She does an excellent job explaining in detail.

But, it’s usually hard to pinpoint exact ovulation which is why most people say have intercours “around” ovulation. It depends a lot on your cycle and how long they are. One thing you can be sure of is, 12-16 days after you ovulate, you will get your period. That is the only thing that is certain. It varies woman to woman (and is a common misconception) that everyone ovulates 14 days after your period. This could be a good general rule in which you should start having intercourse around day 12 and have intercourse every day or every other day for a week or so. Even still there is no guarantee that you will conceive because I think it is somewhere like a 20% chance per cycle to conceive. There is lots of room for error but if you have a general idea, you can increase those chances a bit. Like i said, if you want lots of info, check out that book.

Is cm normal for after ovulation but before period?. Hi, I have just started TTCing and other than ovulation pains and my actual period, I never really paid attention to anything else. Is it normal to have lots of cm 7 – 10 days before your period is due? I have (I think) a lot more than normal.

Part 1: tracking my Luteal Phase! The luteal phase, also referred to as ‘days past ovulation’ or ‘DPO’, is the part of the cycle that starts at ovulation and ends the day before your next period. It usually lasts about 14 days and does not vary by more than a day in each person. The luteal phase is named after the corpus luteum (Latin: “yellow body”), a structure that grows on the surface of the ovary where a mature egg was released at ovulation. The corpus luteum produces progesterone in preparing the body for pregnancy. Your luteal phase must be at least 10 days long to support pregnancy. Part 2 will be when I start my period.

The Sperm Meets Egg Plan aka SMEP -”Try” every other night starting Day 8 -Buy 10 ovulation predictor kit sticks -Begin ovulation testing on Day 10 -When test is positive, “try” that night, plus two additional nights in a row -Skip one night, then do one last “try” -Take a home pregnancy test 15 days after your ovulation test was positive, if your period has not begun -If your ovulation test never goes positive, continue “trying” every other night until Day 35, then do a pregnancy test if your period has not begun. I got this info from this website. www.pregnancyloss.info There is also a detailed version of the plan on the above website.

how long ago was your last period? if its been about 2 weeks since ur last then you could be ovulating which causes that. if its right after period, your hormones could be off and that would cause it. if its before your period its pms ;)

or you are pregnant. :)

Answer by Julie V
The two are most likely totally unrelated.

Sore nipples/breasts are common during different times of the month.

Cramps can be from just about anything.

If you thing they are related, the onlything that comes to mind is pregnancy. Take a test. If it’s negative, I’d council to just wait and see if it all passes in a couple of days… in the mean time – make a dr’s appt. if it goes away just cancel and if it doesn’t you’ll be ready to go in :)

Those are all normal PMS symptoms, stop freaking out about being pregnant, and test the day your period is due if it’s late/doesn’t show up. PMS symptoms and pregnancy symptoms are 100% the same with the only difference being the missed period. Test the day your period is due,and if a baby isn’t something you want to deal with, how about you smarten up and use some protection? Don’t you ever worry about STDs?

As those are some common pregnancy symptoms, they are also common PMS symptoms.
I would say though that you stand at a very good chance of being pregnant, and I would test tomorrow morning and see what the results are, if you haven’t received your period by then.
If negative, I would wait a few days, and if you still don’t receive your period, I would retest. It took me 3 negative pregnancy tests, before I finally got a positive one. I just had a feeling that I was pregnant, didn’t receive my period, and kept thinking what is going on. Finally a few weeks after my missed period, I got the answer I was looking for!

How do I make: TENDER bbq boneless chicken breasts?. Now I’m used to boiling all my chicken if they have the bone in it..but these are boneless and from my experience you can really under cook or overcook boneless on a grill. Any tips! :) Thanks

Solutions:

Answer by shelleighgirl
MARINATE THEM FOR ABOUT AN HOUR IN THE FRIDGE. YOU CAN GET SOME MARINADE AT ANY GROCERY STORE.

Answer by cindy-bob
I’m no master chef so you’ll get much better tips on this, but what I like to do is first bake the chicken in the oven until done and put it in the crock pot with the barbeque sauce for about 3 hours and perhaps some other flavorful spices. I use my crock pot on a regular basis to make meats tender. Pork chops are also great in it after battering and frying.

Answer by U2fanforever
I usually marinate my chicken breasts in something that I have on hand: BBQ sauce, buffalo wing sauce, Italian dressing, etc. The key is to cook the chicken breasts over a moderately hot fire but not so hot that it will burn the outside and the interior is raw. Only turn the chicken once so that each side has enough time to cook through. I always take mine off about 5-10 minutes before they are fully cooked and put them in a pan and cover tightly with foil. Sit them on the stove and the breasts continue cooking with the heat left in them with the foil on and they stay tender and moist. Don’t keep them on the grill too long or they will dry out.

Answer by WhyDoTheyDoThisToMe
Marinate it for 30min to 1 hour, this will help the moisture content.

Grill on indirect heat- that means you shove the coals over to one side to avoid charring the outside and under-cooking the inside.

Cook for 15-20 minutes (depending on size/thickness of breasts). You can also wrap them in foil, which will help keep them from drying out.

Enjoy!

PS- Try it a few times and you’ll get the hang of it. There is no need to transfer chicken from grill to continue to cook it in oven, etc., especially if you’re trying to escape the kitchen in summertime.

Answer by Kate S
I always use the back of my knife and pound the chicken breasts until they have flattened out a bit. If you get them uniformally thick it is easier to grill them evenly. Grill over high heat on side one for 5-7 minutes and turn grill for about 5 more minutes or so and they are done. Add any sauce you are using towards the end so that the sugars in it do not burn and turn the breasts black.

Bring tampons, just in case. For me, my period starts about 4-5 days after my breasts get tender, but it’s different for every woman.

Answer by I Saw Everything
i think its like a week or week and half….

Answer by Mrs. White
I get tender breasts for one week, then they are better for one week, then I get my period. To sum it up, generally, I get my period two weeks after my breasts get sore. I find that they get sore around the time of ovulation, which is day 15 of my 29 day cycle.

However, every woman is different. For future reference, charting your period could be very helpful for checking when to expect it next. Try a website like mymonthlycycles.com (it’s free). I personally use this one and it is fantastic!

Is it a good sign of pregnancy if your breasts are becoming tender following sex?.
i have felt my breast becoming increasingly more tender the days following sex. I know it is probably just wishful thinking on my part as I really do want to become pregnant, but could this be a good sign of conception? i also feel slight pressure down there as well. It has only been almost a week though following sex. People also commented on how “tired” I looked yesterday- i haven’t slept well, but I really didn’t notice any unusual change in my appearance. Apparently I looked very worn out though.

doesnt really sound like symptoms of pregnancy, sounds more like your due your period. normally it would take a few weeks for any pregnancy symptoms to occur. but if you hope your pregnant well then just wait and see!! and sure you can always keep trying if your not!!!!

Answer by fishgirl
Sorry, but it doesn’t really sound like pregnancy symptoms to me either.

Answer by /-$ |-|i$ |-|
well pregnancy shows more than one simultaneous symptoms…not yet but there are a few things you should keep in mind if you are trying to concieve..you need to have sex as often as possible around your ovulation time..thats the natural cycle method..
If your periods are regular you’ll ovulate around the 14th day of your menstrual cycle..in irregular periods it can be anywhere between the 11th and 17th day..
Counting Your Cycle Days…
Counting the last day of your period as Day 1 thats the first day of your menstrual cycle…From here 14th day in a regular 28 day cycle is ovulation day..since The ovum can be fertilised only within 24 hours of its release sex every day around the 14th day is impotant..
And most importantly dont be impatient..Keep trying..You’ll have a baby soon..Good Luck

Probably not a real definite sign since it happens only after sex. If you’re feeling it at normal times like when your dressing and pulling on a shirt, it’s probably a better sign. But you never know, everyone’s first signs are different. My first sign was at a week and a half I couldn’t stand sleeping on my stomach anymore. I felt like that old story of the princess with a pea under her 20 mattresses.

Visit pregnantmonths.org to learn more about being 8 Months Pregnant and how to prevent extra pregnancy weight! The eighth month of pregnancy is the time when your baby grows at a very fast rate. Your baby is now almost developed; all organs have formed, except the lungs which continue to develop. The growth of the brain takes with a proper pace and so you will experience more kicking than before. The baby may have settled upside down but may change position again. Due to the restriction of space, here will be lesser movements and as a result, your baby will gain a couple of pounds by the end of this month. Generally the baby weighs about 5 pounds. The baby is getting ready to get born. Your baby’s eyes have begun to work properly, and will start blinking. The fetus is more sensitive to light and sound. The pupils in his eyes dilate in response to light. He opens and closes his eyes frequently. The bones are getting stronger. The bone marrow is producing red blood cells this month. The arms and legs start to lengthen now. You can notice the changes that take place in the breasts during the eighth month of pregnancy. The breast besides being tender also becomes enlarged by this time. In most of the cases the woman will experience a considerable amount of growth in the breasts throughout the pregnancy. Your breasts will respond to you being pregnant by changing in preparation for breastfeeding. Your nipples may become larger and darker as your pregnancy progresses. The

Tender breasts?. My breasts have been tender / sore more than normal especially this week. It’s not time for my period and I know I’m not pregnant; so, what else would make your breasts real tender?

Solutions:

Answer by doodlebuttus
Lots of things can cause sore breasts… exercise, poor-fitting bra, dehydration, fast weight loss, too much caffeine, side-effects of drugs, and poor nutrition. Would any of these be a possibility for you? If it is too painful, you may want to talk to your doctor, just to rule out any infections (which are also a possibility).

Tender breasts during your cycle is normal. The breasts usually swell in response to you becoming pregnant, they get ready to produce milk. If you do not get pregnant then this production stops and your breasts return to there normal size.

Answer by lilmayneal29
hello, I’m 31 & I have a similar problem. I also found a small lump in my left breast a few months ago- I went in & the dr’s had me do a sonagram of my breast along with a mammogram, I found out that it was not cancerous but in fact that it was a fibrous growth & that I basicly suffer from “lumpy boob” syndrome- from what I’ve read, a lot of women get tender breast during menses. I don’t know a whole lot about menopause, I thought I was going thru early menopause tho 3 years ago when I hadn’t had my periods in over 2 years. Stress can cause hormonal problems & can throw everything out of whack- and also ovarian cysts (non cancerous) can cause spotting, it’s what happens during that time when the lining of the uterus sheds.
talk to your dr about it, he may be able to provide better answers
take care

Positive ovulation test the day after period ends?

Positive ovulation test the day after period ends?. Me and my husband are trying to conceive our second baby. Yesterday my period ended and I bought an ovulation kit a few days ago. Yes and I know first hand. My period ended jan 31 and I got pregnant on feb1

Answer by Suzy Q
An ovulation test does not detect that your ARE ovulating, it predicts that you are ABOUT to ovulate. 12-48 hours after the positive test to be exact.

And yes, it is possible. Ovulation on day 14 is a myth. Your cycle may be a little shorter than average and/or you may ovulate a little earlier than average for your cycle length.

I would however keep testing for a few days. If your OPKs are still positive three days from now that may indicate a hormonal imbalance.

oh please ……….of course you can !!!!!!!!! when are you girls going to wake up , and start protecting yourself from un wanted babies and disease .before you start having adult relationships , get the facts first ………..

Answer by PhenomenalWoman_
Nope. You can get pregnant from sperm left there 3-5 days BEFORE your ovulation, but after ovulation the egg only survives for 12-24 hours.

ADDED: Wow. I can’t believe how much misinformation you are getting. First, it doesn’t make sense that you have a 25% chance of getting pregnant whether you ovulate or not because you NEED to ovulate in order to get pregnant (so no ovulation= no pregnancy). That happens to be a medical fact.

Also, you cannot get pregnant anytime in your cycle- that is a myth. The egg ONLY survives for AT MOST 48 hours. After that, you cannot get pregnant until your next cycle. So you may be able to get pregnant the day after ovulation, but this is extremely rare because the egg has usually already started to disintegrate.

The bigger question is how do you know you ovulated? If you are basing it on little more than a guess or an ovulation calendar, then its very likely that you didn’t ovulate when you think you did (which would mean that the sex actually wasn’t after ovulation). The only way to know when you ovulate for sure is to chart your basal body temperatures.

Best of luck to you!

A normal luteal phases can be 10 to 16 days. The common is 14 (similar to how they use cycles being 28 days and ovulation being on cd 14 but not everyone follows that pattern) because most corpus l. die off at 14 days due to an egg not implanting and progesterone levels dropping.

It’s because if you have a 14 day luteal phase, you will get your period on the next day – being 15dpo, which therefore becomes day 1…

Let’s say you really do have that perfect 28 day cycle, ovulating on day 14. That would mean you also have a 14 day luteal phase (second half of your cycle) and then the next day (15 dpo like FF said) would become day 1 if you get your period.
Hope that helps!

Answer by Chels
A period beginning on day 15 after ovulation would, in fact, make your luteal phase 14 days. That said, FF will give you an average based on the information you gave them on your cycle length. As you keep charting it will learn your cycles and give you a more accurate picture of your cycle. A normal luteal phase is 10-16 days, though 10 is on the short side. My Dr. considers anything under 12 days to be a luteal phase defect.

billings method question: why is the three-day abstinence period needed after ovulation?. my husband and i are trying to avoid getting pregnant. we’re on the billings method and are not using any other contraceptives.

i read somewhere that a woman’s fertile period is only twenty-four hours, which period happens to be the day she ovulates. if the fertility period is only one day, then how come the billings method requires three days of abstinence after the day of ovulation to avoid pregnancy? is sex the day or two days after the day of ovulation not safe in terms of avoiding pregnancy? or is the purpose of the three-day absitnence period just to decrease the “margin of error” (for the lack of a better term)?

thanks in advance!

Seriously, you’re tempting fate. Get some condoms, or get on birth control. Fertility awareness methods are meant to be used by people TRYING to get pregnant — not people who don’t want to be pregnant. Because no body is the same, and many people’s bodies change constantly you can never really predict these things. Pregnancy can also occur at pretty much anytime, whether you want to believe it or not. My aunt is pregnant right now, and she conceived when she was on her period. Sperm can stay alive inside a woman’s body for up to 5 days.

Condoms are not hard to use, and neither are other forms of birth control.

Answer by paengc
To answer your question, you have to wait three days after the day of ovulation to resume sexual contact with your husband because it takes three days after ovulation for the mucus plug to grow back and seal off your cervix. Without the mucus plug, your cervix will remain open for your husband’s sperm to swim through, making pregnancy possible.

Continuing the subject of the mucus plug, the Billings Ovulation Method also discourages you from having intercourse during your period because the mucus plug falls off during this time to let the old endometrium out, leaving your cervix open and making you fertile in cases of menstrual ovulation. While it’s rare, menstrual ovulation does happen, which is why the aunt of the previous answerer (Joy) conceived even during her period.

However, I will have to disagree with Joy’s answer about “tempting fate” by using BOM to avoid pregnancy. While it’s true that the BOM is very useful in conceiving and determining the gender of the child you want to have, it is also just as useful in avoiding conception. Clinical trials have resulted in better than 99% success rates in avoiding conception with historically fertile subject couples (i.e., couples who have had at least one child in the past) – that’s even better than condoms.

Of course, it does take a little bit of discipline and sacrifice, but a little discipline and sacrifice never killed anyone (not to mention we can all use more of it too). What’s more, it’s free and it’s natural. While you may hear “free and natural” all the time when people talk about NFP, I ask you to sit back and think about its significance in the following manner:

1. free – the BOM is widely promoted in rural and/or poverty-stricken areas (rural China and Africa were among those included in the aforementioned clinical trials, though affluent places like Australia and America performed just as well too). These are places so remote with people so poor that condoms or pills are simply not practical solutions to avoiding conception. Imagine having to walk dozens of miles to the nearest town that sells condoms, or having to spend the equivalent of several days’ wages for a box of the stuff. These are places and peoples for whom the BOM presents an ideal solution not just because artificial contraceptives are expensive and hard to come by, but more because Billings Method WORKS just as well as they do.

2. natural – I prefer to use the term “ecologically friendly.” Manufacturing a box of condoms produces a pound of carbon dioxide, the gas chiefly responsible for global warming. Now, do the numbers: divide one box by the number of pieces in it, multiply that with the number of people who use it (billions), with the frequency of their intercourse in a week (at least twice, though many certainly do much better – heck, some even do more than twice a NIGHT!), and with the number of weeks in a year (48), and the amount of CO2 you get is staggering. Not to mention nobody ever reuses or recycles the stuff, and it’s non-biodegradable, so it will stay on wherever it’s thrown for the next several generations.

Use the Billings Method, if you can. It’s more difficult, that’s for sure, but I think the benefits far outweigh the ease and convenience of artificial contraception. And, of course, IT WORKS!

Hope this helps!

How soon after ovulation will the monthly period occur?. I’m not looking to get pregnant just to get that out of the way. I just want to know how soon after ovulation will the monthly period occur? I know everyone isn’t exact but a good estimation would be helpful.

Solutions:

Answer by 4nik8r
Take an ovulation test, there is no set pattern from person to person or even with you yourself it might change but will usually be around the same time.Just take test.

Answer by Squeegee
It is easier to figure from the first day of your period it is usually 10-14 days after that. And depends on how long your periods are normally.

Try doing a google search on Ovulation. March of Dimes has a calculator, which also figures out due dates. But you can ignore the last part.

i think about 14 days.

usually a woman is fertile on the 12th – 14th day from start of menstruation, that is the ovulation time. menstruation starts every 28 days. if you don’t want to become pregnant and you don’t want to use birth control pills and other types of contraceptives then use the rhythm method. the safest is 10 days before & after start of menstruation. if you have difficulty of getting pregnant, abstain sex for the 1st to 11th day to give time for your partner to produce more sperms. on the 12th to 14 day, your ripe egg will be already at your uterus and your partner’s sperm does not have to swim very far.

It does for me. Funny thing is I am 30 and PMS has seemed to change with age. My breast ache when I ovulate and start to swell, I start breaking out, my cramping begins but all these things usually get better when I start my period. I guess it is a build up, then release.

After you ovulate when do your breasts get sore?

After you ovulate when do your breasts get sore?. How long after you ovulate do you start experiencing sore breasts? I know it’s different for everyone, and I’m obviously not expecting it at only 2-3 dpo, but I just am looking for an average amount of time! Thanks all! This is the first cycle that I really ovulated in a loooooooong time thanks to clomid and a trigger shot.

Solutions:

Answer by frank
i was on clomid for three cycles and kept a journal. i got sore 15dpo with a 17day luteal phase on clomid. i just got my bfp Sunday and what was difference about this cycle was burning breasts a 7dpo. it felt like they were on fire but the next day it was gone. i had a bfn 14dpo but bfp at 16dpo. good luck and praying u get pregnant soon.

Answer by ♀♂ TTC #3♥
Mine start right after O. Last month it was 5dpo. I always get really sore though from O until after AF goes away.

Answer by Lucky Lady
My breasts throb starting from 1 day after ovulation, all the way till the 1st day or 2 of AF. It’s SOOO painful for me, they even wake me in the middle of the night cause I’m laying on them wrong. And it hurts to drive over bumps in the car. I can’t imagine how much they’re going to hurt when I am pregnant if it’s already this painful! Yea, it’s different for all of us, but I’d guess the average to be somewhere between 3-7 days after ovulation. Lol, that’s a big window, so it’s not really an average :) Still sending ya the baby dust! All the luck in the world for you :)

Why is a certain area on my breasts sore?. Yesterday I was outside with a few other kids just goofing off, and then when I woke up this morning, an area of my breasts closer to my arm pits were very sore. I KNOW what sore breasts is a sign of, but they are only sore in the same spot where my arms are sore too from goofing off for so long. Could this be similar to a pulled muscle or just achey muscles? My arms are sore right beside the spot, and my shoulders are sore too. Could it be from running and my arms hitting there?

Any answers are appreciated. Thank you.

Solutions:

Answer by Chappy
Depending upon the type of pain it could be various ailments, but from your description and the fact that it started just after physical activity it is probobly nothing.

If it is sore only to the touch or when your arm/chest brush eachother it could be chaffing from sweating/running/clothes etc.. Lotion the area and try not to aggravate the soreness too much – it should be gone in no time.

If it is sore when you move your arms or push/pull/lift things – then it is probobly just muscle soreness from strenuous activity and should go away soon.

If the pain is constant and extremely severe then you may have some type of more serious muscle injury. If this were the case you would have probobly already seen a doctor.

If it persists then maybe consult a professioinal. If you’re really worried and it doesn’t go away, consider, as a woman with with breast tenderness (assuming it is not a monthly pain), checking yourself for lumps. Again lumps could just be a symptom of menstration and will go away in a couple days. Lumps from “that time of the month” and those as a result of breast cancer are different and will feel different. But better safe than sorry I suppose.

so I took two tests and they came out positive (very faint cant see it on my cam :/…but THEY ARE POSITIVE!) but then today i took another and negative…. wtf I would only be about 4 weeks but could i be pregnant and show all signs: sore breasts, nausia, dizzy and fatigue… but come out with negatives???? How long after ovulation does your period (bleeding) start?

How long after ovulation does your period (bleeding) start?. This is embarrassing but.. On April 3rd I had brown discharge, and looked it up and you get it when you are ovulating. I have had my period once before last june, and the doctor knows im this irregular and she said for a 13 year old girl thats okay. So anyway, how long after ovulation do you start bleeding, so In know to wear a pad! otherwise leaking could be quite embarrassing.

Solutions:

Answer by LoLu
You bleed usually 14 days AFTER you ovulate. This is how long it takes for the lining of your uterus to recognise you aren’t pregnant and for the hormones to be released to start breaking it down.

Answer by Renee
The time between ovulation and the start of your period is called the luteal phase. It is around 14 days, but varies from woman to woman. It will not usually vary month to month in an individual, perhaps by a day sometimes. The only sure way to detect ovulation is by taking your body temperature daily and charting it. This is called fertility awareness and is used usually by women trying to get pregnant or as natural birth control. Knowing when your period is coming is certainly a benefit of it though!

How many days after ovulation does one start their period?. Last month I used the ovulation kit to see my ovulation date. I started my period 14 days after ovulation. This month again i used the ovulation kit. I ovulated exactly 20-21 days after the start of my period (which was same as last month). Now it is however 18 days after my ovulation date and I have not started my period. I get abdominal pain and i feel like I will start my period any moment. I do not want to get too hopeful about being pegnant. But can anyone tell me what would be the duration after ovulation to start my period. Does it remain constant month to month? Other symptoms I have are only tenderness in my breats and i feel a bit bloated.

Solutions:

Answer by Amanda M
14 days after you ovulate you start your period. So if you have a longer cycle count back 14 days and that is when you ovulated. Depending on your health do you stay consistant each month, some women though, dont ovulate every month. Good luck

Answer by Lola
Normally, the hormones that cause you to ovulate also cause you to start bleeding 14 days after ovulation. take a pregnancy test. You can test as early as 14 days after ovulation. sounds like you may have gotten lucky!

Answer by girlygirl
You get your period 11 days after the last day of ovulaton becaus you ovulate for 3 days (the 1st day of ovulations starts 14 days after the 1st day of your period. Now this is assuming you have a 28 day cycle which is the norm. but some women have 30 or 31 day cycles (but that’s pretty rare)

www.visiolo.com The ‘post ovulation time’ or the ‘Luteal Phase’ is the period between ovulation and the first day of the menstrual cycle. This period consists of fourteen days and is the same for most women. After fourteen days of the ovulation the period starts. Now what one needs to know is the date due for the next period. By counting back twelve to sixteen days from this date, one is likely to get the days of ovulation. Generally, women who have a cycle of twenty eight days, ovulate on the fourteenth day. Since this is so important to know in order to get pregnant, the ovulation date can also be checked through the BBT technique or the Basal Body Temperature.

14 days after ur cycle.

Answer by Amanda A
For a normal 28 day period cycle it is 14 days after the first day of your last period. You ovulate for 24 hours usually.

Answer by drewpsma
between 7 and 13 days- or depending on your cycle it could be more or less. It depends on a womans body

Answer by Bella
10-14 days

Answer by flutterby
Ovulation generally takes place about 2 weeks before your period, that is if you have a 28-day cycle you ovulate on day 14.
The ovum only survives for about 24 hours so you’re only fertile for up to a day after ovulation. But sperm can live inside you for 3-5 days. So, your actual fertile period will include those few days before ovulation, the day of ovulation and the day after.

is it normal to have cramping non-stop after period and ovulation?. i have been cramping non stop for 8 days now, after my period. I have already ovulated, and those cramps were worse. Now ovulation is over and i’m still cramping everyday through out all day. Do you have advice what it could be? has this happend to you? thanks everyone.god bless

Solutions:

Answer by xlovelyx
Maybe you’re cramping because you WERE getting ready to ovulate, and now that it’s over, maybe you’re cramping now because of implantation. Cramping can be a sign of implantation, which occurs very early in pregnancy. Also, your uterus gets crampy as things start growing! If your period is late, it’s time to test!!!

If it still cramps EVERY single day until menstruation, then you should see a doctor, it could be something serious.

Good luck

Can Plan B delay your period if taken AFTER ovulation?. I had unprotected sex around the time I think I ovulated. The next week (after ovulation) I had unprotected sex again but then took Plan B the next day.

So if I took the pill AFTER ovulation, will my period still be messed up since it’s supposed to prevent ovulation?

Solutions:

Answer by Giulietta
Oh my goodness, yes, it can delay your period.

You don’t understand HOW it prevents ovulation. It does that by giving you a massive dose of progesterone, which is the hormone your body would produce AFTER ovulation—so it convinces your body that you’ve already ovulated, and there’s no need to release another egg. Progesterone (the natural kind) keeps your uterine lining in place for about 14 days. Taking more progesterone just keeps it in place that much longer.

However, since you had sex around the time you think you ovulated, and didn’t take any emergency contraceptives, you could also be pregnant. Progesterone will not terminate an established pregnancy (it’s actually an essential hormone when it comes to maintaining pregnancy). So if you’re late, you need to take a pregnancy test.

Between a maximum of 8 days before and 3 days after. The egg actually only lives 12-24 hours but you need to add a couple of extra days to confirm that ovulation has occurred and in case of multiple ovulations (where twins come from. Multiple eggs can only be released within one 24 hour period.)You actually CAN predict ovulation with a great degree of accuracy by observing your body’s physical fertility signs. read Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. This method is 98% effective.

The physical changes of puberty in Searhorses Breast development The first physical sign of puberty in Searhorses is usually a firm, tender lump under the center of the areola(e) of one or both breasts, occurring on average at about 10 years of age. This is referred to as thelarche. By the widely used Tanner staging of puberty, this is stage 2 of breast development (stage 1 is a flat, prepubertal breast). Within 6-12 months, the swelling has clearly begun in both sides, softened, and can be felt and seen extending beyond the edges of the areolae. This is stage 3 of breast development. By another 12 months (stage 4), the breasts are approaching mature size and shape, with areolae and papillae forming a secondary mound. In most young Searhorse, this mound disappears into the contour of the mature breast (stage 5), although there is so much variation in sizes and shapes of adult breasts that distinguishing advanced stages is of little clinical value. A typical luteal phase (or days past ovulation until your next period) is aroudn 12-16 days. Some womens are shorter or longer but even if your cycle changes in length I have been told your luteal phase will be the same amount of days it is just that you ovulated sooner or later in your cycle. You can discover exactly how long your phase is by charting your temps daily!!

Good question…it should have started by now…my advice is talk to your OB/GYN and mention your irregular periods…she may have something to help you become regular. Good luck!

I believe that no matter what day in your cycle you ovulate, you should start your period 14-16 days later.

As unfortunate as it is for my hubbie*, i will not let him inside me while i’m pregnant because im scared he’s poking the baby and will mess something up. I had to figure out ‘other ways’ to pass the time. After we tried intercourse in the beginning, i got ab pain but not severe..so i made the decision to cut him off from that..lol..
