I am 5 days late and KNOW for a FACT that it can take a while for preggo hormones to show up on some women. I have one toddler and I didn’t get a POSITIVE result til I was 5 or 6 weeks and this with me being STRESSED!!!!!!!!

I’ve done this before & I am pregnant now but last year I was a month late and I had took test after test each showing up negative and when I went to the doctor they had to give me pills to make my period start.

What came first: fatique/emotional wreck, or sore/tender breasts?. There’s a good chance I may be pregnant (*fingers crossed*) If so, I would have conceived 6 days ago. I noticed breast tenderness first at about 10 days after conception. It was very prominent and I was like owwww, this isn’t normal for me…then about a week before my period was due I was so tired even after sleeping 8 hours that I wanted to cry. Maybe its PMS? Are you due a period around now? Did you wear a new bra with under wiring? That can sometimes cause pain for a while afterwards. Any pain in your breast should be investigated. There are certain conditions that cause breast pain, best to get it checked out with your doctor if it persists.

Sore breasts, Missing period, white discharge, 3 negatives?. I accidentally missed about 4 bc pills in november and i ended up with one of those unexpected periods. After that me and my b/f had sex it was nov. 18 we believe. I should have had my period 2 weeks ago and am still waiting. Last week my breasts started to be slightly sore and i am nautious sometimes. But the nautious thing could just be my sinus’s (they run bad in my family especially over winter). I have all the period symptoms but i also have a slight lower back pain which is more annoying than painful. could be pregnancy even though you already tested negative, but either way a doctor would be able to help you. if it’s some type of cancer, better to catch it early. you should get it checked out.

I’m about 99.9 percent positive you’re pregnant. There are a lot of woman that show negative on the pregnancy test early on. I would go to the woman’s clinic and have them do a pregnancy test. Pregnancy symptoms are nausea, sore breasts, and period symptoms. Most woman think that it’s just their period starting but in fact they’re pregnant. Missing pills can screw up your periods big time but it can also get you pregnant because it throws your cycle off. If you just happen to not be pregnant, do yourself a favor and get the Nuva Ring birth control. You only have to remember to take it out every three weeks and put it back in after your period. The side effects aren’t as bad as the pill either. It’s a good idea, I’ve been on it for 3 years now and never been pregnant.

Not to entirely freak you out but when I had a miscarriage i tested both postitive and negative. I think what’s happening (not to be mean) is you’re spending too much time looking online for a diagnosis, filling your head with things like cancer. This can stress you out, causing your body to stress, giving you more symptons like body aches and, guess what? more missed periods. Easy solution is just to go to the doctor. If you don’t have medical insurance, planned parenthood is great!

This is a normal menstrual cycle symptom. When I was a teen my breasts always got sore around my period. Thinking about pregnancy all the time probably doesn’t help, it sounds like you’re stressing your self needlessly.

why are my breasts always sore/swollen?. im 26 and pretty much 75% of the time my breasts feel swollen and a bit sore. it doesnt matter what time of the month it is! my period just ended a day or 2 ago and they feel swollen again today. my period are fairly regular always between 27-35 days. so i know its nothing to do with that. i hate it it makes them look and feel huge. im a D cup normally but they feel even bigger.
what could be causing this? i saw the doctor and he wasnt even concerned and just said take evening primrose oil or vitamin e and he said even then it might not work.
i just get a few days here and there when they do feel normal
im not overweight. im slim so its not to do with weight issues
im 100% not pregnant. this has been going on for a year and im not sexually active atm

Hormones, hormones, hormones. The first half of your cycle is dominated by estrogen, which can cause breast swelling and tenderness. the second half of your cycle is dominated by progesterone, which can also cause breast swelling and tenderness. Sounds like you’re having issues with both. I’m 23 and until this past fall, I would only experience breast tenderness just before my period. Then out of the blue it turned into weeks at a time. I’ve recently started birth control to deal with it and other PMS issues; it’s worth a shot for you if it really bothers you.



can taking prenatal vitamins make you feel pregnant?. My husband and I been ttc for about month and a half… the first month we was not successful but we’re still trying. I started taking prenatal vitamins ever since we started trying… but in the last two weeks, I been getting nausetated, sore breasts, and tired alot. I also take synthyroid. Can these two combination make my body think i am preg.? And also I stopped taking prenatals about 5 days ago to see if that was it but now my nipples ar e tingling and they hurt so bad. I also take synthroid and prenatals and i haven’t had those symptom expect the occasional nausea. Sounds like you pregnant. Congratulations. It can take a while for a pregnancy test to be positive. If and when you do become pregnant Prenatals can make nausea worse. Try taking the Flintstones vitamins they are easier on the stomach.

Does taking hormones make your breasts tender?. I just got off 12 days of Progesterone. My breasts are so tender and sore that I can barely put my bra on. I’ve been taking Vitamin E to help this problem…..but is this a normal reaction to these drugs?
I don’t have my period now, it ended a few days ago, so it’s not that.

Breast tenderness is a listed side effect of progesterone, so yes, that is a normal reaction, as much as it sucks!

Some other things that might help are making sure to drink plenty of water, and making sure to wear a properly supportive bra. The less they are bouncing and moving around, the less painful it is! And, it should go away after a day or two. If it’s four or five days later, and it’s still too painful to put on a bra, you should check in with your doctor.

I agree with the other answers except the dr friers balsam. Just use some vitamin E. oil. It is a lot cheaper than some exotic Peruvian balsam preparation. A lot of these cosmetic remedies are over-glorified.

Absolutely. It’s not a given or a guarantee that you will have breast tenderness on hormonal therapy, but it’s a common side-effect.

My understanding, based on our private conversation, is that your progesterone therapy was a one-time, short-term plan. I’d guess that your breasts will return to normal, sensitivity-wise, fairly soon. Until then, you might want to find one of those softer “sleep bras” to use.

im in the TWW has i need some positive comments please!!!?. We have been ttc for two years now. We are young so we thought it would never be a problem. Well he has a low sperm count. I have him on zinc,fish oil, L-Carnitine, and Vitamin E. Hoping this might help.

I’am usually on a 28-33 day cycle. Last month was 28.
I swore i was Oing on April 11, i had lots of clear cervical mucus. So we bd on the 11th 13th and 14th. Well then the 19th came, and i checked my cervix and i had tons of stretchy mucus. So we bd once again just in-case that was ovulation. My cervix hurt so bad during intercourse, I’ve never had ovulation pains. Not even sure if i was ovulating before. Because i have had ovarian cyst since i was 16. Well i have been going off of the 19th because, that sounded closest to ovulation. Here are my Symptoms at 9dpo.

1 dpo- pretty sure ovulation pains, very frequent cramps.
2 dpo- same as day 1
3 dpo- Very touchy,erect nipples, mild cramping on and off all day. feeling nauseas at night before bed.
4dpo- more mild cramping, sore erect nipples. felt very nauseated on and off all day.
5 dpo- sore erect nipples, breast tender and feel full. more mild cramping
6dpo- heavy full tender nipples and breast. nauseated most of the day, woke up in the morning with a headache. very tired. slept from 7 pm until i had to get up for work the next morning. Hot flashes, cheeks always got very hot.
7dpo-lower back ache, well sitting. very sore tender breast and nipples.
nauseated on and off all morning. then later in the evening. Hot Flashes, hot in cheeks again.
8dpo- Sore tender breast,nipples feel a little better . lower back ache. felt like af was coming that night. BFN i know to early, just checked just in case i Ovulated sooner.
9 dpo crampy in am. heavy full breast. a little nauseated on and off all day.
later pm feels like AF is about here again. feeling wet down there. Hopefully this is it BFN!!!

I know this sounds nuts but I have heard women using a small cup that inserts into the vagina to hold sperm in place for a few hours.. Some women have used the Diva Cup which is suppose to be used during periods but other TTC women use it after sex while they lay in the bed to hold in sperm for a few hours longer.. hardening breasts any ideas?. For the past 3 weeks my breasts have become denser and harder even more ball shaped, I am 20 years old and i think this is at least a little odd, I went to the doc and she seemed worried but told me to lay off caffeine for 1 week and take vitamin e and come back, but i dont get where the caffeine comes into play, i dont drink coffee or soda mainly juice or water sometimes tea but only once a week at most.

Hormonal Changes. This is the ONLY thing that comes to mind. Puberty ends at around your age so maybe its just that. Pregnancy can be an option (take a test just to make sure.) Maybe your still growing, your still pretty young, everyone blossoms diffrently.

90% sure that this is caused by hormonal levels. I have a reason to believe may be your doctor think that you have a hormonal imbalance after you stop the birth control. It is also possible that your hormones are reacting to food items you eat as well. That’s why she said to cut down caffeine.

Yes, as other poster said that around 20 you will stop the development of sex organs. This may cause some problems as well. In that case, she should give you mild birth control to adjust hormonal levels.

I would not worry too much about this because this is a very common problem.

could i get pg right after a miscarriage?. i had a miscarriage on august 20th and bled for about 4-5 days. i haven’t had my period since then (almost 7 weeks now). I’m not sure when to expect it being as i don’t have a normal cycle anyhow and given what’s gone on i can’t say i’m surprised not to have started yet. lately i’ve been having some strange symptoms, wicked heartburn and an unending headache along with a few moments of nausea and hot flashes. what’s the chance that i could have gotten pregnant immediately after the mc? are these pg symptoms or are they unrelated? two weeks before the mc (didn’t know i was pg till it was over) my boobs were crazy sore but now just recently they’ve gotten a bit achey but nothing like they were in august… but then again i’ve been taking vitamin E for breast pain so that plays a part too. Also, if i am pg is it ok to have been taking 1000mgs of vitamin E like my dr gave me or should i stop taking it immediately? thx for taking the time to read and answer my questions!

Absolutely! You’re most fertile after you have a miscarriage or after birth. However, it’s best to let your body heal before conceiving again. But, oops it sounds like it’s too late. Those are all definite symptoms of pregnancy. Sorry I don’t want to give any advice on the vitamins. I would set an appt with the DR. ASAP. You don’t want a repeat miscarriage.

I had a misscarriage at 5 weeks on aug 10th and bled for 5 days, but i am now nearly 5 weeks pregnant again, so yes you might be. Take a test and ask the doctor to take your blood to check your hgc levels so you will know for sure. Good luck! xx

Itchy and sore nipples and breasts, What could it be?. I also have possibly unrelated nausea. I am on birth control the pill, that I have been taking for 6 weeks and I am two weeks away from my monthly.

Women do a lot of strange things, when you are on the pill that could be one of the side effects. Have you read the pamphlet the Dr. gave you? This could me many reasons, the laundry detergent, soap, birth control…your hormones, or nothing at all. Test a few things out, use different soap, make sure you are wearing a clean bra…etc. And see if any of that makes a difference.



Sore itchy nipples and tender hard breasts. ?. For the last month or so my nipples hav been really sore to the touch and the areola has been itchy and a slightly darker color, too. Along with that my breasts seem more hard and they’re sore as well. I have been on and off with my depo shot but have never had this problem before. The last time I was supposed to get my shot was in the end of dec. but wasn’t able to get it. Help!!!!!

No missed period, but very sore itchy breasts?. I know this is TMI, sorry, but I have only been off of my period for 1 day, but my breasts and nipples are so sore I cant stand for even my clothes to touch them. It could be your body reacting to not getting those hormones your bcp’s was giving you. You are going to be irregular for a while but i don’t know why you have “crusty nipples”. Maybe your boobs are growing? Have you had sex w/o the pill? Maybe you are pregnant?

I have itchy, sore breasts?. I had itchy breasts (and nipples) a few weeks ago and I think it was from my bra. I washed it and the itching went away. But now I have spots on my breasts from the itching. My nipples also hurt when they get touched. My breasts were sore, but now it’s just the nipples. My right nipple is also darker than my left. My right breast is smaller than my left though. I noticed that my nipples are also erect more often. Is it just from the itching, or could it be more? I don’t know if I’m pregnant or not. I don’t have any symptoms except for the breasts. But the itchy breasts started a few days before I last had sex. I’m on the pill and we used new condoms. I’m supposed to start my period in two weeks.

Am I pregnant? Sore nipples and breasts?. Okay, so. The last time I had sex was 4 days after my period ended, so I figured I can’t be ovulating. We used the pull-out method, however we were intoxicated and I’m unsure whether he re-entered me after he came. It is now 2 weeks later and I’m experiencing itchy/tender nipples and sore breasts. I have no other early pregnancy signs however and I’m told my breasts could just be growing because I am 16.
I had no ovulating signs at the time, so I’m fairly sure I couldn’t have gotten pregnant however stress is getting the worst of me at the moment and I can’t help but worry.
Opinions?
They do feel slightly fuller but my nipples haven’t darkened or anything.

I would take a pregnancy test. Itchy breasts and sore nipples are a sign of pregnancy, but your breasts could be growing too! Taking a test is the only way to be sure !! Good Luck!

Relax! The more you stress, the more likely your period will be delayed.

Sore and tender nipples can be an early pregnancy symptom yes, but its also a sign you’re about to start your period.

Generally you won’t experience early pregnancy symptoms until you are about 6 weeks pregnant (which is actually only 4 weeks after conception).

If you are pregnant a simple home pregnancy kit should give an accurate result by now, and that is more reliable than checking symptoms.

I am 22,know im not pregnant, but my breasts stay sore almost all month, every month. What could this be? ?. For 3 months now, after I get off my . I have really sore breasts, more sore than before it. I do not feel lumps and I don’t feel sick. I just had a preg. test last week, of course, neg. Why do I keep feeling this pain. Today it was so bad when I would try to run, I couldn’t. It’s hurting terribly.

Breasts are sore all of the sudden…?. Hi there, I am 20 years old and have recently been having pain in my breast, and having some gas pains in my stomach. I am on birth control, been on it for 3 months (use to be on it for over a year, stopped taking it when I found out I was pregnant, then started up again when I had a miscarriage…never had sore breast when taking birth control) and everything was fine, until this past week and a half. I started having sore breast, and I threw it over my shoulder not thinking anything of it. then a few days later when my so called period arrived (the period only lasted for 3 and a half days. it was between light spotting and heavy spotting. I normally have really heavy periods when on birth control and always have to change the tampon every 3 or so hours the first few days. and they normally last between 6 and 7 days.) I noticed my nipples got bigger and those are also beginning to get sore too. My breast have grown a half cup size within that week and a half, and I am still in pain whenever someone lightly touches me in the “girls” area. I also noticed today that I now have blue veins running all over my breast. It looks like a road map! My husband thinks its all in my head but I’m not sure what to think. I took a pregnancy test this morning (one of the cheapy equate preg. tests) and it came out as a negative. In my first (and not long lasting) pregnancy, i was about 2 months when I got the one and only faint positive test, and when my mom had me, she didnt find out she was pregnant till 5 months. So, when I googled everything, the only things that have popped up are breast cancer and pregnancy. I highly doubt I have breast cancer. We just recently moved to Oklahoma, and I can’t find any good doctors around. My husband is in the air force so we are well covered, its just about finding a damn doctor!!! haha. So, has anybody had this happen, where they got neg. tests and found out later they were pregnant??? oh, and we have also been doing the “pull out” method pretty much ever since we got together. which has been about 3 years. any input will be helpful. no bs please!!!

I suggest that you wait a few more days to take a pregnancy test. You have to have enough HCG (pregnancy hormone) to make the test be positive. If I was you, I would go to your doctors lab and take a urine test fro pregnancy. I had two miscarriages and all of my pregnancy test said negative until i went to the doctor and took a urine test. I am currently 8 1/2 months pregnant with my first child and had a missed period and took 3 pregnancy test which all said positive. That was the first pregnancy test out the box that said positive.

So you should a few more days to take another one, or just go to the doctor today and take a urine test.

Breasts still sore months after mammogram?. I have never had pain or sore breasts in my life. I am 33 years old and in good health. My gynecologist thought that she felt something in my breast so sent me for a mammogram and it turned out to be nothing. But I had a second mammogram a year later too just to make sure. The first mammogram was unpleasant and painful but after putting an ice-pack on my breasts for three days and taking ibuprofen, I was fine. But, since the second mammogram, I have had constant soreness in my breasts, am unable to run because of the pain. And, I have even notices that my breast seem flabbier and have lost their elasticity a bit. I am now convinced of two things: that no woman would have ever invented such a torture chamber. And the second is that they are lying to patients ( mammograms do hurt badly, they do damage the breast tissue and they do destroy the shape of the breast because mine are flabby now and I am 33, and always had perky breasts and now they seem like an old lady’s). Has anyone else had these experiences? I am asking because I am contimplating suing. I have had ice packs on my breasts about five days a month now since the mammogram and have had to take painkillers constantly.

How many times do I have to put an ice-pack on my chest? There must be a way to check women’s breasts for disease that doesn’t cause our bodies so much trauma.

I have had 20 mammograms in my life time, and have never felt any kind of pain or experience you describe. My technologists have always been gentle, and a Mammogram saved my life…I would have never known I had breast cancer if I didn’t. Something is wrong…sounds like you had an inexperienced technologist. I don’t know if you can sue, but you can write a letter of complaint.

That’s just horrible, they are working on other ways to do it, but who knows when it will be ready to try….There’s gotta be something better than ice packs. I would complain to your doctor and say “What the HELL?!”

you could be pregnant, but without a home pregnancy test or doctor’s visit, you can’t be sure…during my cycle, my breasts always get really full and tender 1 week before i start my period, this month was no different, except i got the sore breasts and no period and i am 4 weeks pregnant…that’s the only difference i feel so far….i waited until the day after the 1st day of my expected period and took the first response 2 line test, both lines popped up immediately, you can go to planned parenthood to get a test, it’s like 5.00 i think

Well, the one thing, that you did not mention if the sex you had was unprotected or not, if you had unprotected sex, or sex with a condom and no pill and the condom broke, which there is always a chance with condoms breaking, then yes, if the condom broke during ovulation, you could be pregnant.

If you were on the pill and the condom broke, then there is a chance the pill saved you from becoming pregnant.

If you are wondering if you are pregnant, the only way to find out honey, is to take a test, if you can’t afford a test, then go to Planned Parenthood, and they will give you a test and they will answer any and all questions you may have about pregnancy.

Take a test, and see your doctor, or Planned Parenthood. Time to put your mind at ease. :-)

Chances are it’s something like that, as things like weight gain or exercise can aggravate that. If it continues to bother you’d I’d ask your doctor and try wearing a more supportive bra. If you think there’s a chance you could be pregnant, even though you are menstruating, I’d take a test just to be sure.

If you are large chested, running without a supportive bra can make your breasts and chest muscles sore. You may have also simply pulled a muscle, and it is causing referred pain in your breasts.

Your breast pain may also be hormonal in nature (but not related to pregnancy). I have had months where my breasts hurt the entire month – from one menstrual cycle to another.

If the pain gets worse, or you develop pain, redness, or swelling on your breasts, you need to see your doctor.

Clomid & VERY sore breasts…?. Hi ladies! So this month was my first time taking Clomid, 50mg. Every month my breasts get sore during my 2ww but this month is different and I am wondering if it is because of the Clomid. My breasts and nipples are so un-bareably sore…to the point where I can’t even wear a bra. I am wearing big sweaters to work with a tank top underneath because the bra hurts too much to wear. When I took Clomid this part month, my nipples were super sensative… Maybe not as bad as yours, but probably the most sensative I’ve ever felt them… So I’ve been there to girl!

In my experience, when it comes to PMS that’s usually where it starts and ends. By this I mean, as my breasts just begin to swell and get sore, I can feel the pain most at the sides, and near my armpits (that’s actually what I do to test if “my period’s on it’s way”) Then, as the week progresses, the entire breasts becomes a bit more sensitive. And then, again, once my period is about a day away, the pain subsides but still lingers a bit at the sides. Then it’s gone altogether until the following month.

Sounds like PMS to me. But then again, PMS and Pregnancy symptoms are very similar as you know…. this is just my experience, not facts.

Sides of breast sore?. I am 6 days past ovulation and on progesterone suppositories since two days ago. This morning I awoke to soreness on the sides of my breasts more on the left than the right. I am wondering if it is too early to feel this. I have had two miscarriages both of which I felt breast tenderness while on progesterone. That’s where I’m hurting the most (though it’s the right more than the left). I’m about 20 DPO and confirmed “with child.” The tenderness was one of the first symptoms I felt, maybe not 6 days past DPO, probably more like 10. Before that, I was abnormally exhausted, and THAT was my first clue.

However, the hormones themselves can do that to you, I believe, whether from the suppositories or PMS. That’s the trouble with early detection: symptoms are almost indistinguishable from PMS. You can take a test at 10 DPO, and even then there might not be enough HCG to register (and even then, as you know, it might only be “chemical”).

In short, it’s possible it’s a sign, but it’s too early to know, I’m afraid, especially with all of those factors.

you’re definitely going to want to take a pregnancy test if you miss your next period. Having sore breasts could be an indicator of pregnancy, but more likely it’s a side effect of menstruation. Often when women are about to get their periods, their breasts become sore. And, as a safety measure from now on- use a condom! Not only will it help to prevent pregnancy, but it will also protect against STDs and STIs. And, if you’re sexually active, you should be seeing an OB-GYN regularly and, as a safety measure if you haven’t done so already, you and your boyfriend should get tested for STDs, even if you were both virgins to start.

Oh, and SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT. the user “pilar” is WRONG when they said his penis has to have entered your vagina to get you pregnant. All he has to do is ejaculate NEAR the vagina for you to become pregnant. Semen can climb the walls of your vagina (that’s why everyone calls them little swimmers!) and attach to the egg. Pregnancy is slightly less likely, but STILL 100% POSSIBLE.

Well the thing to do here is to go to the doctor and have him do a blood test to check for pregnancy. Just because you are on the pill does not mean you arent pregnant. My wife was on the pill for over a year and I was using a condom and she got pregnant for our youngest son. If you are pregnant and are still taking the pill you could be doing a lot of damage to the baby.

I’m usually very irregular befor 2 or 3 months ago i did not have a period for a year ( i’m only 20), I had everything checked out, ever sort of blood test that could be done for this and everything was perfect..My doctor tried a progesterone challenge on me 10mg for 7 days to see if that would induce, it did. so i have been using progesterone cream the past 3 months and have had a very regular period. Anybody know a reason why my breasts would be extremely tender?

Anybody know a reason why my breasts would be extremely tender?. I’m not pregnant. I’ve taken multiple pregnancy tests in the last two months.
I have two weeks before my period starts. Lord, I hope this pain doesn’t last that long!
I’m also 21 years old. They shouldn’t still be growing.

It could just be that they’re going through a growth spurt. Or you are getting ready to have your period. You could also have a cold in your breasts. If it doesn’t get better or go away in a few days, make an appt. with your ob/gyn to be on the safe side.

First off the pull out method is not effective at preventing pregnancy. You should take a home pregnancy test. This way you will know one way or another.

In what part of the women’s cycle do the breasts get very tender?.
I’m asking this because, from what I hear, it’s usually near or during the period. But I feel it about two weeks before my period (my cycles are a bit longer). So I’m wondering if it indicates ovulation for me or not. I’m not tracking my ovulation… but just wondering.

Usually after ovulation up until your period. When you ovulate, your body produces progesterone. Progesterone causes your breasts to be sore. When progesterone goes lower as you are about to start your period, breasts go back to feeling normal.

you just asked this question…. you could be just about to have your period again. and even tho you have had your periods, you could still be pregnant, it can happen, just not very often, and if you had cancer, you would have a lump. go to a doctor if you are that worried!

To my knowledge having tender breasts does not mean you have breast cancer. Usually breast cancer is shown when you have lumps or weirdly shaped breasts.
If you are still a teenager it could be just that your breasts are growing or I’ve heard of some women who just have tender breasts while having their period-or just having tender breasts all the time.

I wouldn’t be worried about breast cancer. But if you really are, call up your doctor and ask about it. :)

Your breasts normally feel more tender around your period, but I have no idea why it would be like that for a month. they may be growing. Apparently underwired bra’s can be bad for breasts while they’re growing. It could possibly be effects of the pill, as the pill has many affects on your hormones

On birth control and my breasts are so sore and tender?. I started othro lo a month and a half ago. The first month I had little to no side effects except for a long period. This month for the last week and a half my boobs have been so sore. I know that it can b a side effect but its worse then before I was on them and I’m not due for my period for a week or more. I doubt I am pregnant. Is this common to last for days? And be that tender?

This happened to me too. It’s probably because your body is adjusting to all of the new hormones the pill is giving your body. It goes away after a couple months when your body is all used to birth control. Your boobs could also maybe be growing too! It’s just the birth control hormones, I wouldn’t worry about being pregnant unless you don’t get your period.

ALL birth control pills contain some synthetic version of the natural hormone progesterone. Progesterone is the hormone responsible for a preparing a woman’s body for possible pregnancy after she has released an egg. The main and most desirable effect of progesterone is that it blocks all other eggs from being released. That’s why progestin or some other synthetic form of progesterone is used in ALL forms of hormonal birth control.

Of course, there are other effects and side effects of progesterone. The reason your boobs feel sore is because progesterone kicks off cell division in your breasts as the very first step to preparing them for possible milk production if you were to conceive. Progesterone is also responsible for every PMS symptom you’ve ever heard of as well as the majority of so-called “early pregnancy symptoms” that women claim to experience before they miss their periods. This can include bloating, gas, nausea, changes in appetite, loss of libido, fatigue, headaches, moodiness or irritability, aches and pains, cramping, and so on.

In a normal woman’s cycle, she only experiences progesterone and its effects for about two weeks, 16 days max. When you’re on birth control, you’re generally experiencing lower doses of a synthetic version of the hormone, but you experience it for a full three weeks. Some women find that their bodies adjust to the dosage over time, and they experience less intense side effects. Other women find that their symptoms persist.

But, in short, yes, it’s completely normal for your boobs to hurt. Every time you swallow another pill, you’re prolonging the experience. That’s what progesterone is SUPPOSED to do. It’s just up to you whether you want to wait it out and see if your mind and/or body can adapt to it over time or whether you want to try something different.

My breasts have been really tender, why do you think, and how do I reduce the tenderness?. There is no chance I’m pregnant.
I’m not too close to my period. I’m just in between the end of it and the next one should be in about two weeks.
I haven’t been doing anything different.
They hurt in sports bras, in regular bras and without at all.
They feel like someone hit them with a bat.

Breasts can get tender while on your period so possibly it is not fully over yet. Also another possible explanation is that you are sleeping on the and not knowing it cause them to be sore, a good sign would be if its worst in the morning.

Be mindful to not touch them to anything and how you sleep. try to wear no bra and even no shirt if possible as to not have them rubbed to make them more sore.

Well, pregnant is the most obvious and some women still menstruate for a couple of months even though they are pregnant. Otherwise, your hormones are acting in an unusual fashion, if you were my friend, I would suggest a visit to the Doctor. Are you on the pill? That’s another reason but with that too, a trip to the Doctor is your best idea…even if only to make sure it’s nothing sinister.

This is a question no one can give you an exact answer on. Having pms symptoms are unfortunately the same as pregnancy. It may feel like your pregnant either because you really want to be or you really don’t want to be but you won’t know until you miss your period next week. If you feel you are particularly intuned with your body take it as a highly possible sign that you could be pregnant.

sperm can live inside of your body for about 4 days (I believe) and tender breasts are definitely a sign of pregnancy. So, yes its possible. Any time that you have unprotected sex its possible. However, they could be swollen & tender for other reasons. Dont stress out or anything, just wait until your period is due & take a hpt.

The first time i got pregnant my breasts did that but not the second. It could be a sign of either or. Their is basically no sure way to say yes or no until your period comes. If you want to go by a pregnancy test get the first response in a couple days…That one you can take 3 days before your missed period. Good luck!

u could be pregnant, thats always a possibility but in saying that, what u have could be any number of things. i had sore boobs, felt sick, increased smell sensitivity, tiredness. i thought i was pregnant, we have been trying for 7 months, but i went back to my OBGYN told him my symptoms and that i didnt get a period that month and after tests he discovered my hormones are out and i didnt ovulate at all. just started clomid and pregnyl shots.sooo i think you should visit your doctor again. or better yet, go to a good OBGYN! after u do another preg test of course! goodluck

If you have been having unprotected sex of course you could be pregnant! If you don’t want a baby, and you do get your period this time, then start using a proper contraceptive method. The pull-out method is not reliable, at all, and is leaving you vulnerable to unwanted pregnancy, STDs and increased risk of cervical cancer.

if you aren’t on birth control then a)your period does not have to be on schedule and b) stop using the pullout method.
if you are on birth control and think you may be pregnant stop it, as this can hurt a fetus, and take a home test.

Tender breasts, not pregnant?. I’ve just finished my cycle 3 days ago. My tubes are tied. I am 31.

It’s the strangest thing, but my breasts are super tender and they feel heavy. And another odd thing, my libido has gone WAY up. (I’m not complaining about that)

I haven’t the slightest clue as to what could be the cause. I eat a very healthy diet, and i don’t drink caffeine.

I have an IUD in and my breasts are tender and I also have cramping. What should I do?. The IUD is half in my uterus and half in the right place. Sorry can’t think right now!!

an IUD should be completly inside the uterus….if you can see it then it is not totally in. the strings should be outside the uterus, you may be able to see/feel them (sometimes they lay up against the cervix and can’t be seen or felt).Cramping is common with IUD’s, breast tenderness may or may not be a result of the IUD, if it has hormones, it could be, non hormonal IUD would not be a factor…..breast tenderness/soreness is often a result of caffeine intake.



Symtoms: Hard stomach, tender breasts, sore throat, headache with sensitivity to light, and nausia. Any ideas?. She is stubborn and doesnt want to go to the doctor so any way anyone could help in convincing her to go or convincing me she is fine would be great. :)

Pre menstrual migraine headache coinciding with a slight sore throat. She should see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis for migraine headaches since they tend to recur. There is excellent medication now that will stop it in its tracks, and she should keep it handy since the sooner it’s taken the more effective it is.

It’s not so serious that you need to rush her to the doctor unless her head ache gets much worse–some migraine headaches can be really painful.

possible strep. Frequent symptoms: sore throat, headache, nausea and fever. And a lot of the time, there is a complaint about an ear because of swollen tonsils pushing on a nerve close to the ear. And, you don’t always have to have fever with it. go to the Dr.

Tender breasts and really sore nipples?. What are some things that could cause this?
I started experiencing this a day or two ago and it has since worsened.
I am 14, sexually active, and had unprotected sex, but that was on the 12th and I know you don’t experience pregnancy symptoms that early.
I can’t tell if it’s because I’m starting my period because I was on Depo for six months, stopped in early December, and my periods have not regulated.
Last month I guess I had a period on the tenth. It was light and only lasted a few hours. I have not had period since.

Well it is hopefully just PMS, I am 20 and I have had PMS symptoms like that up to 2-3 weeks in advance of my period(after the period itself was regulated), it could also be your diet, too much salty or caffiene filled substances can cause you to retain water in your breast, causing them to swell and hurt. Or there is also the more unpleasant thought that unprotected sex may be the cause.

If it persisted for several weeks though, go to the doctor, just in case.

Yes…………..could be so. I had very “weird” symtpoms when I was pregnant, wasn’t “moring sickness” at all. But my boobs were super sore, almost like they were sunburnt, and I had the crampy/gassy pains like you’re describing, almost like SUPER BAD menstrual cramps which I NEVER get.
Get a test done, and I will think good thoughts for you. I know when you are “TTC” (trying to conceive) it’s easy to make every litle twitch into a symptom, this is such an exciting time for you.

Got to the doctors and get a proper ultra-scan. That is only the sure fire way of telling if you are pregnant or not, apart from waiting 9 months and looking down to see if a baby has suddenly appeared.

Good chance of it. If you got pregnant on May 4 or 6th, then it would be too early to show up in a pregnancy test. It takes between 17-19 days after fertilization for HCG, the hormone of pregnancy to show up in a test.



I have been making ‘viewer requested recipes’ in the past weeks, but this week is different. After watching some of my cooking videos, my friend Misty Hamilton told me I had inspired her to take some time out of her ultra busy schedule to cook more. BRAVO Misty!! I know how busy you are, so I am impressed! At any rate, she told me about a recipe she threw together one night off the top of her head, and how much her family loved it. So I requested the recipe to make for BellinieBits! Now I forgot one of the ingredients while I was filming and had to go back and fix it, but maybe you’ll have better luck getting it all right the first time! Here’s the recipe: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (create a pocket in each one) 1 cup peanut butter (I used chunky for texture) 1/8 cup honey (or more to taste) 1 tsp ground cumin ½ tsp ground black pepper 4 chicken bouillon cubes, mashed ¼ cup honey mustard Mix the last 6 ingredients (all but the chicken) together in a bowl. If it is too stiff to mix, heat up the microwave for 20-30 seconds to soften. Inside each pocket of the chicken breast, spoon a heaping tablespoon of the mixture in. On the top of the chicken, add a little more, and then drizzle with extra honey. Once all 4 breasts are dressed, loosely wrap the chicken in some foil, and place on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. The chicken will be fork tender and juicy. Serve with a side of cold sesame noodles, or ramen …

sore breasts come with both pregnancy and PMS! I would say it is too soon to have pregnancy symptoms! Wait til your period and if it is late then worry about taking a test! 3 weeks since last period…tender breasts and bloating, could I be pregnant?. My breasts have been swollen and tender for seven days and I’ve had slight bloating. My boyfriend and I use the pull out method which I know isn’t that effective and we’ve had sex just about every day this month. I cycle regularly and had my last period on the 24th of Dec which was exactly three weeks ago so if I had gotten pregnant it would have been about a week ago. PMS… The boobs swell a week before often, the nipples hurt, the bloating, cramps mood swings etc.. It is true that not all women have these symptoms, and some have them off and on, you could just be in a “bad month”. Also with increased sexual activity your hormones could be out of it this month. However knowing that you rely on the pull out method, I would recommend a pregnancy test AFTER the date your period is suppose to start. Taking a pregnancy test any sooner than that usually results in a false negative. If you are really paranoid you can try first response the 5 day early test. That one can tell you if you are pregnant 5 days before your period. Please understand that they are not always accurate and I would recommend waiting it out. Good Luck

Hormone changes in general cause breast changes including both hard and tender type feelings. They can both be related to pregnancy symptoms but also can be related to an on-coming period. Here’s my opinion, but please keep in mind that I am not a professional. My breasts get a little (I repeat, little) sore a couple of days before my period. But, last month, when I was pregnant (had a miscarriage at 6 weeks) my nipples were very, very tender/sensitive. I wanted to go around topless because anything that rubbed against them would kill me. The outer edges of my breasts were sore/achy, very bad. I hoped that helped. I think that it depends on the woman, plus every pregnancy is different. Good luck to you!
