Can breast cancer cause sore throat and ear pain ?.

Solutions:

Answer by Mafia M
i dont know.

Answer by gilardino1117
no i dont think so im not 100% sure but i really doubt it

Answer by Isabel
Sore throat and ear pain would not very likely be related to breast cancer.

Answer by truelori
This would be very doubtful. Perhaps it could be a side effect of one of the treatments if you already have a breast cancer diagnosis.

More likely would be some type of an upper respiratory infection. If it persists, see your doctor.

My left breast is sore…breast cancer?. I am 21 years old and am not pregnant. I have a IUD and have one child. Is this normal or something to be worried about??

Solutions:

Answer by Froggie
Go see your Doctor. Be safe. It could be a minor infection treated by antibiotics.

Answer by Athena P
You need to do self breast exams on yourself monthly, and women 21 years of age need to start getting mammograms every 5 years until the age of 35. Does breast cancer run in your family? If you are nervous about it then schedule a mammogram with your doctor and have them show you how to preform a self breast exam.

Answer by OhIDoDoI
You know what’s normal for your body. If you think something isn’t quite right, you should trust that instinct and head to the doctor.

I get sore breasts before my period.. if you ahve one breast bigger than the other, it might get more sore than the other.

Answer by banana nut muffin
i heard from somewhere that breast cancer doesn’t hurt. i’m not sure if that’s true though. go check with the doctor anyway.

Answer by Nikki S
If you have a tummy ache, do you fear you have stomach cancer?

Really…if you feel a lump in your breast then you should see a doctor to make sure everythings OK. Soreness in the breasts is normal, even if it’s just in one, especially before your period. It could be that you injured it somehow…lol

If this soreness persists for an uncomfortable amount of time then you should schedule an appt. with your gyno.

Best of luck

Why do I have sore breasts now? Please help?. I’m 14 1/2 years old. I’ve had my period for 2 1/2 years now, and for the past 2 months my breasts have been really sore before my period. This has never happened before. Oh and for the past two months not on my period sometimes my breasts are kinda uncomfortable and sometimes itchy. Does anyone know what’s happening. I’m scared it might be breast cancer or something else. If you have any ideas please help.

Thanks.=)

Solutions:

Answer by LC
dont worry its not breast cancer its just another sign that u are gonna get ur period, mine get sore right be for i start so dont worry. and as for the itchiness im not sure about that. talk to your mom and see wat she says. dont be scare to talk to her about this kind of stuff.

Answer by Alexis
Dont worry, sore breasts is a sign that your period is coming. They mightnt always be sore, but its nothing to worry about. The fact that it has only started recently is probably related to the fact that at your age, your boobs are likely to be growing. That is also why they have been sore at other stages of your cycle too. Nothing to worry about :)

Answer by leo_leora
It’s just the change in hormones before your period. Nothing to worry about. However, if it becomes really bothersome, etc. you might say something to your doctor. You might want to let your mom know what’s going on to. Sometimes sharing helps relieve the anxiety about the whole thing and it isn’t as bothersome anymore. You might find out your mom has the same problem and this is what she does……

Hope this helps. :)

Okay i know this sounds totally weird..but i’ve had sore breasts lately =|?. I’m 15 and been having sore breasts >.< So i doupt that it's breast cancer .....lol.............

I'm on birth control and my piriod is regulated. My piriod isn't coming for another two weeks

Solutions:

Answer by Sierra B
That used to happen to me before I got my period. My breasts would be so tender and just ache. Then my period would come and after that they would be back to normal. I think it’s a PMS symptom because once I got on my birth control it hasn’t been a problem.

Answer by cryglens
usually during the menstrual cycle our breast become tender which is perfectly normal

Answer by Carrie L
it might be because of your period, my breasts tend to be super sensitive the week before my period. another lovely side-effect of being a woman!! woo!

Answer by missmary
sore breasts could indicate that your period is going to come soon, even if you have had it before and never had sore breasts.

Answer by omegastar3
breasts can be sore just by having your period. Its perfectly normal and it will go away. If your still worried about it talk to your doctor or your mom.

It might just be a cyst.Go to your doctor and get it checked out if you’re worried.

Answer by High Voltage
Probably a bug bite…

Answer by DGS
It is most probably a noncancerous inflammatory condition. See a good doctor and get it treated.

Answer by Reba
It could be a boil It should get checked out by a doc. There is medication for that. Breast cancer is not usually visible from the out side that’s why they do mammograms.

Answer by Spreedog
Breast cancer do not show up overnight, they are rarely painful, and it is extremely rare for a woman under age 20. Your chances of being hit by lightning are much greater than the chance of this being a breast cancer at age 17. This is a localized subcutaneous skin infection as others have suggested in their answers. Your primary care physician can handle this.

Do fibrocystic breasts cause inverted nipple?

Do fibrocystic breasts cause inverted nipple?. -I had a painful hard firm lump about size of pea or marble 5 years ago. When I touched it, it hurt that area.
-I told the doctor but she just assumed it was a cyst and did not take it seriously. I am 22 years old now. The lump felt as if it grew larger and the pain spread throughout my entire breast
-The pain is a dull, heavy, uncomfortable ache that does not go away even during or after menstrual.
-A year ago my nipple started to invert.
-I ignored this because I thought my doctor was right and that it may just be nothing.
-Yes I am going to the doctor again this Tuesday, but am worried. What do you think it is? If it is fibrocystic, can it cause the nipple to invert?

-Inverted nipple is a sign of breast cancer, but I am wondering if fibrocystic can cause that too. Anyone else had this problem? What are the chances of this being cancer? Please help. Thanks!

Solutions:

Answer by Memere RN/BA
No, they won’t cause that. Fibro cystic disease in breast is just hardened tissue and though painful, not cancer. Inverted nipples are something you should see a GYN about if they just occurred but if this is something you’ve had right along, I wouldn’t worry.

How do doctors diagnose fibrocystic breast disease?. Last couple months I have been getting horrible breast pain on and off. I do have several lumps in both breast’s and they seem to act up before my period.
My mom seems to think it could me fibroid’s in my breasts. I am only sixteen and the thought of my doctor ” feeling me up ” is SCARY.

So, I was just wondering how doctors would diagnose me etc etc

Answer by norton g
Michaela – “Fibrocystic breast disease”, an old term, is now called “fibrocystic changes in the breast.” It is very common in women from the time of puberty on through the years. Fibroids form in the uterus, NOT in the breast where a single similar lump sometimes found in the teens is known as a fibroadenoma (a benign growth). Doctors do examine hundreds of breast each years, commonly while a female attendant (maybe even your mom) is present in the room. Maybe you would feel more at ease if you find a woman MD to examine you? First there is a family history taken since cystic changes often run in families. Then your personal breast history is talked about, like when during your monthly cycle do you get your most swelling. It’s best to get examined when you can most easily feel the largest lumps. Sometimes the doctor could easily locate a large lump, stick a tiny needle in the cyst and suck out fluid. If the fluid is clear, then a benign diagnosis is almost 100 percent certain. Now get over your anxiety of an exam and go get some relief from a doctor’s visit.

Do you have fibrocystic breasts?. Did you have a biopsy or just an exam to find out? Do you have any lumps that are pea shape and size? I went to surgeon who said that I had lumpy breast and didn’t do biopsy? He said both breast were lumpy? However one lump is she sahpe and size of a pea. That paticular breast hurts in that area more than any other. What would you do? Get second opinion or stick with the one you got?

Answer by Ashes
I have had fibrocystic breasts since I was 18. My breasts are not that big but they feel almost like a balloon with beads in them. My doctor just happened to be one of the head researchers at a cancer center. He basically informed me that there was no substantial correlation between fibrocystic breasts and breast cancer. Therfore, you would not need a biopsy. However, if you FEEL that something is wrong, you should seek a specialist. Personally, I would go with my gut feeling. My fibrocystic breasts do not hurt. Go and get a second opinion, it can’t hurt!

Can a 14 year old girl possbily have fibrocystic breasts?. I have not had my period for over a year, and I have been getting these lumps in my breast that hurt and feel lumpy. Could this be fibrocystic breast? Could I also possibly have Polycystic Ovarion Syndrome at this age? That causes loss of period, and I also have excess body hair (which I have had long before my period started) and I do have oily skin. What do you think might be wrong? Could I have either of these?

Fibrocystic Breast Disease

Definition

Fibrocystic breast disease is a general term that refers to a variety of symptoms and diagnoses, including breast lumpiness, tenderness, and a wide range of vaguely-defined benign breast conditions. The term is also used diagnostically to describe the appearance of breast tissues viewed under the microscope, on x-ray film, or on ultrasound equipment.

Description

There is no such thing as a typical or normal female breast. Breasts come in all shapes and sizes, with varying textures from smooth to extremely lumpy. The tissues of the female breast change in response to hormone levels, normal aging, nursing (lactation), weight shifts, and injury. To further complicate matters, the breast has several types of tissue, each of which may respond differently to changes in body chemistry.

Fibrocystic breast disease is clearly not a single, specific disease process. Variations or changes in the way the breast feels or looks on an x ray may cause the condition to be called “fibrocystic change.” Other names have been used to refer to this imprecise and ill-defined term: mammary dysplasia, mastopathy, chronic cystic mastitis, indurative mastopathy, mastalgia, lumpy breasts, or physiologic nodularity.

Estimates vary, but 40–90% of all women have some evidence of fibrocystic condition, change, or disease. It is most common among women ages 30–50, but may be seen at other ages.

Causes & Symptoms

Fibrocystic condition refers to technical findings. This discussion will focus on symptoms a woman experiences, which may fall under the general category of the fibrocystic condition.

The breast is not a soft, smooth, pulpy organ. It is actually a type of sweat gland. Milk, the breasts’ version of sweat, is secreted when the breast receives appropriate hormonal and environmental stimulation.

The normal breast contains milk glands, with their accompanying ducts, or pipelines, for transporting the milk. These complex structures may not only alter in size, but can increase or decrease in number as needed. Fibrous connective tissue, fatty tissue, nerves, blood and lymph vessels, and lymph nodes, with their different shapes and textures, lie among the ever-changing milk glands. This explains why a woman’s breasts may not feel uniform in texture, and why “lumpiness” may wax and wane.

Fibrocystic condition is the tenderness, enlargement, and/or changing lumpiness that many women encounter just before or during their menstrual periods. At this time, female hormones are preparing the breasts for pregnancy, by stimulating the milk-producing cells and storing fluid. Each breast may contain as much as three to six teaspoons of excess liquid. Swelling, with increased sensitivity or pain, may result. If pregnancy does not occur, the body reabsorbs the fluid, and the engorgement and discomfort are relieved.

These symptoms range from mildly annoying in some women to extremely painful in others. The severity of the sensations may vary from month to month in the …

Is there any connection between fibromyalgia and fibrocystic breast disease?. I’m wondering if any of the pain in other parts of my body, such as tenderness in various trigger points, that I’m associating with fibromyalgia, might in fact be due to benign cysts similar to the ones I get in my breasts.

Solutions:

Answer by sweetestthing
I don’t know…but that’s a good ???? I can relate because I deal with both of those, too. So, it could be very possible.

Answer by jazzhands247
I don’t think so. There is a protein that gets trapped in those certain parts that causes the pain or tenderness in them. I’ve heard that blue-green algae helps. But for my management of fibromyaglic pain, I execise, get lots of sleep and try natural things like lavender, etc.

Answer by Diane D
No relation. The tender points in fibromyalgia do not contain cysts or any other abnormalities. They are normal areas that are naturally tender in everyone, but are more sensitive than normal if you have fibromyalgia.

Breast cysts are totally different, but of course can be tender too. If you have fibromyalgia you probably are more senstitive to the pain in the breast tissue than average.

Answer by HamTownGal
No, there’s no connection, just the first part of the word. You can have fibrocystic breast disease and fibromyalgia at the same time, but they’re separate conditions.

Answer by dark and beautiful
Fibrocystic breast disease is common and usually benign condition. Symptoms include swollen, tender breasts, and/or one or more lumps. Frequently, symptoms worsen just before a woman’s menstrual cycle, subsiding near the end. For the majority of women these symptoms are a temporary discomfort, however some women experience severe pain.

Fibrocystic breast disease may affect one or both breasts. Women often discover the existence of this condition when, during their monthly breast self-exam, they detect a lump. As frightening as discovering a lump in your breast is it’s important to remember that most breast lumps are not breast cancer. However, all breasts lumps must be investigated to rule out breast cancer and/or to begin immediate treatment if breast cancer is diagnosed.

Steps to Reduce and/or Eliminate Symptoms Naturally
One of the most important dietary changes you can make to prevent or reduce the symptoms of fibrocystic breast disease is eliminating all forms of cafeine-containing foods from your diet. This includes foods such as chocolate, sodas, and coffee and tea. Reducing sugar may also help reduce overall symptoms.
Decrease sources of estrogen from your diet such as commercially raised meats which contain excessive amounts of hormones that can exasperate your symptoms. And don’t forget pharmaceutical sources of estrogen such as birth control pills that can worsen symptoms of benign breast conditions.

According to Dr. John Lee’s book, “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause,” natural progesterone cream applied at a dose of “15 to 20 mg per day from ovulation until a day or two before your period returns will usually result in a return to normal breast tissue in three to four months.” Dr. Lee further advises that once the desired results have been obtained that you should taper your dose of natural progesterone down until you have reached the minimum dosage required for you to maintain your results.

Dr. Lee and others, also recommend the use of Vitamin E, in doses ranging from 400 IU to 600 IU per day, to reduce symptoms associated with fibrocystic breast changes. Other vitamin suggestions include Vitamin B6, a B complex, and magnesium.

If you have tried everything and still find yourself suffering with unbearably painful breasts, some physicians recommend that women who experience severe discomfort may find relief by wearing a good support bra during intolerable episodes.

I would really like to start a discussion about this and get as many hoopers on board who have fibrocystic breast disease and or breast mass and water filled cysts to take note and share results when after having their mammograms. The doc says that as we approach and go through menopause the fluids available to the breasts lessens so it would make sense fibroids, masses and fluid filled cysts would eventually disappear. So to those of you who are in your 20′s, 30′s & 40′s an informal study would be wonderful to share with us and to see if truly chest hooping will in fact help fibroids, masses and fluid filled cysts disappear.

the others “preg sx” are, hormone changes, ovarian, uterine fullness, and more commonly are ectopic in which there is a pregnancy, just not in the right place and needs surgery.
the other is pituitary tumors, mal or benign. but, along with those, there would be other medical symptoms in addition to the feeling pg sx. the brain, uterus and ovaries are involved in the above.

Answer by Due August 26th w/ #2
Yup. “pregnancy symptoms” are actually EXACTLY like PMS and symptoms hormones can cause. Read the pamphlet that came in your birth control box. It will explain that.

Answer by Sparkle
yes birth control can cause symptoms that seem like they are related to pregnancy. i guess thats why im so paranoid all the time. if you ever miss your period, then thats when you should really look into it. good luck

Answer by ruddy_scot
Yes, and when you get off it it well too (I just learned that myself).

Answer by SCB
Yes! This is normal. For most people these side effects only last a month or two until your body adjusts to the pill. For me my body never adjusted so I had to go back off birth control. After trying many different pills I gave up. Good luck with your trial.

Answer by preggo with a baby boy!
yes its normal but if you miss a period take the test

Does the birth control pill cause pregnancy symptoms or could I be pregnant?. Im on my second pack of pills and lately Ive been feeling nausiated and my stomach has been feeling bloated. The pills that Im taking are Microner and they have four weeks of active pills with no sugar pill break inbetween packs. I had a period last month during the fourth week of pills but I havnt had one this month and there are only 2 days left of this pack!
Am I even supposed to have a period when there is no break in-between packs?
Has anyone else had pregnancy symptoms while on the pill?
Has anyone ever gotten pregnant while taking the pill?

Help! Oh yeah….and I just gave birth to my son 6 months ago! I am definately not ready to be pregnant all over again!

AAhhhhh!!

A lot of woman get pregnancy symptoms when they first start the pill, especially if they were pregnant just a little while before. Tons of hormones are rushing through your system, just like when you were pregnant.

You’re fine. If you’re really worried about being pregnant, go take a pregnancy test.

Answer by pink
THE BIRTHCONTROL PILLS MAKE YOUR BODY THINK YOUR PREGNANT THATS WHY YOU DONT OVULATE SO YES ITS NORMAL TO GET NAUSEA WHEN TAKING THE PILLS IT WOULD TAKE LIKE AROUND 3 MONTHS SO YOUR BODY CAN GET USE TO IT.

Answer by Nurse Lola
Your pill is probably too strong for you and its causing you to be nauseous. If the pill is too strong you can miss a period too. The pill makes your body think its pregnant and you don’t ovulate. The only time you can become pregnant on the pill is when your pill is too weak and you get breakthrough bleeding all the time and you have unprotected sex. I think you should go see your Gyno and let her know. Feeling sick from the pill is no fun.

Anyone get pregnancy symptoms prior to positive test?. I know a certain level of HCG is required to test positive but is it the HCG that causes pregnancy symptoms or other hormone that can be elevated prior to elevated HCG enough to test positive? For whatever reason I cannot seem to recall when I started “feeling” pregnant with my kids! Thanks

no i never did or got morning or night sickness

Answer by Beaner
Maybe it’s just gas, have you been eating any italian food lately?

Answer by ret2go83
The weekend before I took the test, I hadn’t suspected I was pregnant. No signs. But then we went out on the town for a friend’s birthday, and I started having a few drinks, just like any other night. Except about half way into the second drink, I just put it down. It was gross, and I didn’t want anything else. I had no explanation for it, since I was having a great time. I told my boyfriend and he suggested the possibility that maybe my body was trying to tell me something. Sure enough, it was right.

Answer by CARL
Did you never get morning sickness? This is natures way of telling you there’s a bun in the oven!

Meredith interviews Dr Penny Sheehan about morning sickness in pregnancy. they discuss morning sickness symptoms, causes and treatments.

What else causes pregnancy symptoms?. Ok so i have pimples all over my nose, im always and i mean always hungry. i have gained 10 pounds since june. my nipples hurt and itch and there are some small bumps on my around my nipples. i used to be sleeping a lot but now i just feel more active. i took a pregnancy test last month it said negative. I want to believe its true but the way i feel is uncommon. i also find myself getting pissed about the smallest things. i am usually very easy at crying bt these days nothing seems to move me i cant cry i just get pissed.
My bf and i broke up in june please tell me that there is another reason for all of this. i cant handle being pregnant.
No i have not missed my period it came but not as heavy as it usually would have….it didnt spot either. i will retake the test. i just want to know if there could be any other possibilities.

Answer by Samantha
Wait 2 weeks and take another test. or you could just go to a clinic and have them test you for like 20 bucks, they’re tests are more accurate than your guessing.

Answer by Shauna
Besides the thing with your nipples, it sounds like it all could be stress related to me. You didnt mention if you had actually missed a period. Have you?

Answer by ✿Teh✿unconceived✿Baybeh✿♥~◕‿◕εїз
Stress
Being worried about being pregnant
not being able to concieve when you really want to

etc.

go get another test.

Artificial hormonal birth control works by introducing artificial estrogen and artificial progesterone (progestins), at 4 to 10 times the dosage naturally produced by the body. These dangerously high levels trick the brain into thinking that the person may be pregnant and cause ovulation to stop. The pill also prevents conception by thickening the cervical mucous so that the sperm can’t reach the egg. If this doesn’t work, the pill prevents the implantation of an already fertilized egg. This occurs when a new human person has already been conceived, but after the artificial hormones have thinned the uterus lining. So rather than sort of snuggling into a nice nourishing uterus to continue development, the uterus is hostile and the embryo is discarded. Most pills are combined

what are the causes of primary complex? is smoking during pregnancy a major cause?

what are the causes of primary complex? is smoking during pregnancy a major cause?. during the first stages of my pregnancy (m not aware im pregnant until 4mos.) i was smoking & drinking alcohol, the father also smokes. is this a major cause why my daughter has primary complex? but after i found out i was pregnant i really did everything like eating the right kind of food, vitamins &milk. complete check-up but then when she was born 3mos.later she was admitted to the hospital & was diagnosed with primary complex? for 5years shes under medication,im really worried. treatment was too long, she still coughs a lot…

Solutions:

Answer by erictav22
Hell yes it is. There’s nothing you can do now but treat the symptoms. All I can say is you better start spreading the word to all you friends who smoke. Strongly encourage them to stop or it could kill there babies. Good thing you eased up when you did. Smoking is a horrible thing.

Answer by juno406
Primary Complex is caused by Tuberculosis a bacterial infection which, should of been treated by the meds.

But the fact that you smoked you child more of less has and will have asthma. Which can be caused by your smoking during pregnancy, as well as second hand smoking after birth by you and her father…This is causing damage to her growing lungs, this is why she is still coughing.

does pcos cause painful swollen breasts?

Question by baby #3 nov 26, 2008: does pcos cause painful swollen breasts?
I have pcos and for the last 2 periods I have had very painful breasts from ovulation up to my period to the point that it hurts when water hits then in the shower and it hurts just to take off my bra. is this a symptom of pcos or is it just me? I was diagnosed in march of last year so please note that I’m not asking if I have pcos. the other thing is that they don’t hurt so bad this month any reason you can think of? I have bulging viens on them to and my nipples and areolas are really huge which has happened in the last 2 months as well just not nearly as painful this month. I suppose I should be greatful but I can’t help but wonder why.
I won’t know if I’m pregnant until the 29th that is when I expect my period and then with pcos I stil might not know then.
I had a positive ovulation test on the17th an ferning on my microscope as well as ewcm so I’m pretty sure this is not an anovulatory cycle but could be pregnant I suppose the thing is I don’t have the tenderness as bad this month and that is what I don’t understand.

I have had PCOS for a few years but have never experienced tender breasts because of it.

I did however feel that way when I found out I was pregnant. Is there any chance you could be? Have you missed your period or have any other pregnancy symptoms?

Id definately have a think about it and if your unsure take a test! Since your on the Trying To Conceive page, I wish you loads of luck and baby dust!!!!
