swollen of feets in pregnancy, what are the causes and remedies?. my sister always experience swollen of her legs during pregnant, i want a convincing answer.

Solutions:

Answer by Nurse JC
When you are pregnant your the amount of water in your blood increases. Because people spend a lot of time of their feet gravity pulls the extra fluids down. This leads to swelling of the legs and feet. It can be very painful because the skin starts to strech it feels like it is going to rip.
Forgot to add – the best thing to do is try and keep feet elevate above the level of the heart

Answer by C B
I agree with Answer #1. The things that can help are making sure you sister is drinking A LOT of water and putting her feet up as much as possible.

Also, she may have gestational diabetes – that is a large cause of severe swelling during pregnancy. It can also indicate other conditions like prolonged, elevated blood pressure. Make sure she is being tested for these things throughout her pregnancies.

Answer by dana3250
During pregnancy the amount of fluids in the body increases to be able to nuture the baby and the mother. This includes more blood and water. The combination of fluid retention within tissues and gravity causes the feet and ankles to swell, as well as legs and hands. It is particularly noticable in the evening.

Ironically, drinking lots of water will help flush the body of the excess fluid. She can also get regular exercise, avoid sitting or standing for a long time, elevate the feet when sitting, and wear support hose.

Edema, or swelling, is really common during pregnancy, although not all women experience it.

What causes out-of-wedlock pregnancies, and how can sex ed prevent them?. I mean I know what causes pregnancy, but why does it happen? Because there are not enough condoms out there? or something else?

I ask in politics because sex education is an issue.

Solutions:

Answer by What did Obama do in Pakistan?
It probably mainly happens when the kids get drunk, smoke weed and make bets with their immature friends.

Its not up to the schools- its the parents responsiblity and the govt shouldn’t be allowing all the Drug Cartels into America screwing up our kids lives. We have a war on our borders right now and Obama aint doing poop about it! He actually took away the security Bush had, allowing more in!

Answer by Dice
Juking

Answer by J
I definitely don’t think sex education is an issue. I mean, come on. Everyone knows what to do before you park the limo in the garage. It’s just the stupidity of youth. I have had a few pregnancy scares myself because I made bad choices. We KNOW it’s wrong, but we do it anyway (i.e. maybe there isn’t a condom around, etc.).

I say to those who do not want children: get an abortion. It wouldn’t be easy, but that’s what I would do. This world is already overpopulated.

Answer by Zeve
Condoms are not 100% effective. Sometimes women are too stupid to have an abortion because of stupid reasons really and then end up screwing up their lives. You should ask this question to the pro-lifers they are the ones that have wedlock pregnancies because they don’t like abortions. Also, a few women in their late 30′s are opting to get pregnant and raise a baby by themselves because they want to have a child but do not want to deal with a man (i.e. infidelities, etc, etc). I don’t blame them really, I’d probably end up doing that myself. Men are pieces of garbage.

HAVE AN ABORTION. There is no need to withhold sex and not enjoy it. Abortion is dealing with the consequences of those actions effectively. By the way, abstinence is stupid, you don’t want to wait until you are married to find out your husband has a pencil for a pecker and you two are sexually incompatible. Those who have never had sex with multiple partners are the ones that believe in abstinence, because yes, there is such thing as sex better with one person than with another.

Answer by Barry “Drill Baby”Bama
Because parents think it’s the schools responsibility, and the schools cant teach morals because it would offend the non church goers.. even tho it has nothing to do with religion, people are still paranoid they are getting ‘brainwashed’ i guess.

Schools show kids what kind of BC there is, but dont teach them how to properly use it- and of course they back it with “abstinence” but never stress the importance of it- or why it would be best to wait until marriage.

Are people seriously this casual about abortion? wow, sick.
There are morning after pills, flushes you can do to wash it all out, BC, Condoms, bj+ pull out (hey yea that’s right, bj)- get your tubes tied, or God forbid you just control yourself and dont do it untill you have the proper ‘tools’ and brains to have sex.

Personally, i think they should use the scare tactics such as Macro pictures of STD’s and videos of child birth.

What causes dizziness and nausea during late pregnancy?. It’s 3 in the morning right now & I feel very weird, I’m kind of dizzy & sometimes I get nauseous. I’m wondering what’s causing this? Btw, my blood pressures been good at every appointment, & what are high blood pressure symptoms?

I am 34 weeks & 3 days pregnant.

Solutions:

Answer by Jeremy B
Nausea could be from what you may have eatin….Smaller healthy meals is the best way to eat all the time but esp when pregnant because the motility of the gut (AKA PERISTALSIS) slows down dramatically when pregnant and slower towards the 3rd trimester. So that maybe normal. Dizziness can be lack of O2 to the brain…your baby can put weight and pressure on the Descending Vena Cava while you rest causing low circulation to your calves and feet causning numbness and tingnling there but also a slower reuptake to the heart and when you get up u may get dizzy….walk around and stretch your leg muscles, while resting try to lay on your right or left side as much as possible to reduce the pressure of the baby on your vena cava….hope this helps….really i think u r ok…just sounds like natural/normal pregnancy side affects….and are easily corrected.

Answer by Mother to Bella and baby Cade
Its totally normal during the end of pregnancy to start feeling sick/ nauseous. I felt like that a lot towards the end as well. It is your body preparing for labor. Nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye on the symptoms, and contractions. start timing. Whenever they start coming consistently every five minutes apart or less, then you need to get to the hospital. otherwise, its fine. hang in there.

you are getting close.

good luck to you. congrats!

what are other causes for areolas to darken besides pregnancy?. i am 16 years old and ive never had sexual relationships so there is no way i could be pregnant, however my breasts are larger and the areolas are darkening..why is this happening?

Solutions:

Answer by Nikki
It’s normal… a woman’s breast grow and change their entire life. Trust me, it’s completely normal. Usually, the significant grow and change is done by the time a woman is 20, but because of things like weight change, hormone change, pregnancy, nursing, and age, of course they never stop changing. If it really bothers you, talk to your doctor about it. I’m just another woman, the docs have the cold hard facts. Or, it could possibly signify something. If it makes you uncomfortable, talk to the doc.

What ovarian cyst causes a false positive on a pregnancy test?. I heard of one and does it have any symptoms?

Solutions:

Answer by VoDevil
I have ovarian cysts and never ever had a positive until 6 months ago when I found out I was pregnant. There is no such thing as a false positive, but if its a molar pregnancy you’ll get a positive result on a pregnanct test but its not from a fetus.

Answer by Ethel
Teratomas and neoplastic ovarian cysts. Basic pregnancy symptoms and pelvic discomfort.

What are causes of high blood pressure during pregnancy?. I’ve never had it before (hbp)

I was sick recently so I am just starting to get my apetite back. I eat a pretty balanced diet. I drink lots of water.

Can it be caused by stress or lack of rest?

Solutions:

Answer by Logee’s Mom
High blood pressure can be caused by many things, but I would keep a really close check on it. Sometimes it is just due to your heart having to pump for two now instead of one.

Answer by Tiffany
stress, excess salt.

Answer by samantha

yes. it can be caused my stress or lack of rest.. your heart will need to produce more blood to cater the need of your active body..

What causes weight gain in pregnancy?. When you’re pregnant, do you get hungrier and therefore eat more calories which is what causes the weight gain or do you gain weight no matter what, regardless of whether or not you start eating more/consuming more calories?

Solutions:

Answer by Brii
ur supposed to eat more calories but eat small meals all day not big meals. the fluid around the bby and the baby weighs some too. and alot of peoples body shape changes too like theighs n such

Answer by Ashley Adams
You gain weight because you need to eat more calories because your feeding two, toward the end though, the baby gains about a 1 lb a week so there is about 10 lbs there…but your also carrying milk. I think that 25 lbs is a healthy weight gain for pregnancy.

Answer by Angelique
It’s your amniotic fluids mainly!
Because all that liquid has to stay around the baby to give he/she the correct fluids they need! And of course to protect!

Answer by SMLYON
Breasts growing, weight of growing baby, 50% more blood in your body, placenta, amniotic fluid, etc. The mother only gains about 8lbs of fat which she will need since breastfeeding blows through calories.

Answer by kr
see during pregnancy its not just the mother who is eating. but the child also eats.there`s not just one person eating but but 2 people eat,so,you get hungry and you get fat/gain weight because because the child also grows inside the mothers womb.

What causes water retention in late pregnancy?. Does it happen to everyone? How can I avoid it?

Solutions:

Answer by Ocean Blue
Good question.

I have it even though I have taken measures not to get it like putting my feet up when I’m at my desk job and exercising.

I know that you can ask your doctor for a prescription to get compression stockings from your pharmacy. This is supposed to help.

Answer by Jess due 12/20!!!
It doesn’t happen to everyone but my doctor said to drink plenty of water to avoid it best as possible.

Answer by jen
It happened to me–badly!
My doctor said to try to avoid sodium and to drink plenty of water.

Answer by SE
I’m 36w5d pregnant. I drink tons of water, I don’t eat much salt, I have excellent blood pressure, and I still have lots of water retention in my calves, ankles, and feet. ugh. It’s always worse during the week while I’m at work, probably because I’m a programmer and have to sit all day. When I’m able to get up and walk around as much as I want to, my legs and feet don’t swell as much. Propping up my feet helps, but I really need to elevate them higher than my office footstool allows.

I asked my doctor about the swelling and she told me that it just happens to some people more than others, even when you do your best to prevent it. As long as your blood pressure is healthy, the swelling is just annoying – not dangerous.

If you’re early on, like 5 weeks and under, it could be implantation bleeding. Or it could be a mild period. Some women do get periods while pregnant.

It’s just the major increase in hormones. It’s completely normal to be emotional and moody so don’t worry! :-)

Answer by yellow fuzzy
Hormones. They suck. :-)

At around 12 weeks, my husband wouldn’t let me have a drink of his Mountain Dew (I’d sworn off all caffeine for the first trimester). I started crying, then called him an *ssh*le and slammed the door in his face. LOL. I still feel bad about it- the worst part is he couldn’t stop laughing, and I was in hysterics. I’ve never done anything like that before!

Answer by Baby Jayde’s Mommy
hormones. pretty much everything that happens to you while you’re pregnant is due to hormones.

Answer by mother to be oct 20, 2010
its the change in hormones, they’re all out of whack and changes through out the pregnancy. they really do effect the entire body, including your emotions. also every female is different… thankfully for my fiance i’m not too moody, never was, nor have i even had any pms symptoms. so its good for him lol. who knows you may not be as emotional as some females are. only problems i have so far is that i’m even more ticklish (which we didn’t think was possible) and i have these random laughter fits.

also to one of the previous people who answered, mountain dew is actually caffeine free.

What causes a spike in hCG to create a false positive pregnancy test?

What causes a spike in hCG to create a false positive pregnancy test?. I’m not looking for the bullshit I keep seeing about old pregnancy tests or we don’t read them right. I don’t care about the test, I want to know what could make this hormone rise to create a false positive test? Possible medications, lifestyle, lack of eating, stress, infections, and anything like that?

Solutions:

Answer by Sam
Only if you are taking medication related to getting pregnant, that contains the hormone HCG. Nothing else will give you a false positive.

What can happen is you are pregnant when you take the test, they you lose the baby early on, so the next test is negative, this is a chemical pregnancy, or an early miscarriage.

Answer by rachyboo
the only thing that will result in a spike in hcg levels is pregnancy it self, Even if it is a very recent prev pregnancy the hormones will be picked up on a test, my friend had a miscarraige so was not pregnant and did 6 tests and all 6 were positive yet she had had scans etc and there was no pregnancy, however she had only shortley before this lost the baby,

But i can guarentee you that if the test is saying you are pregnant then you are pregnant unless you have recently been pregnant and for some reason you are not…

Personally i would get yourself booked in to see your dr and discuss your hcg levels with them…

These levels like i said will only rise due to the presence of a pregnancy or recent pregnancy

Answer by mel
The only possible thing that could give a false positive would be fertility drugs that contained the actual hormone itself,if nothing is there then there is nothing to detect and no other drugs, diet, stress or illnesses or anything else will cause it.

If you were taking the kind of fertility drugs that contain hcg then the doctor would advise you that it may give a false positive on a test, the only other time a woman may get a positive test and not actually be pregnant is if she has recently had a miscarriage and the hormone has not completely left her body.

Answer by abbington12
The ways to get a false positive I know of are
1. Certain fertility medications actually contain hCG, as a part of helping your body to become a suitable enviroment for implantation, perhaps if your body has trouble making the chemical itself. So if you’re taking fertility medications that contain it you will show positive whether you are or not. I’m uncertain as to whether any non-fertility related drugs contain it, I doubt it, but it’s worth looking at the ingredients list anyway.
2. The most common occurance is not actually a false positive. Many women have miscarriages they don’t even know about, that simply pass as if they were your next period. If you miscarry around 4 or 5 weeks from your last ovulation, a not uncommon occurance as the baby often isnt viable for an assortment of reasons, you may find yourself with a positive hCG test and a slightly abnormal but not worrying period a day or two later which is actually a miscarriage. This is called a ‘chemical pregnancy’.
3. Technicly the same as 2 but bears mentioning on it’s own. Pregnancy tests are not uniform, if a box says it will detect the hormone when it reaches 25mIU/mL, then it will detect at that level, but some tests may detect earlier and even by the same brand. In a box of three tests, one might detect at 23, one at 20 and one at 15. Researchers found that some tests, on occasion, were able to detect levels as low as 4.5mIU/mL This would pick up a very early miscarriage.
4. If you have actually hit menopause without realising it (missing periods through the pill or never getting your period back after your last pregnancy for example) your levels of hCG actually do go up a fair bit, as far as 12 mIU/mL. Usually this is too small for a pregnancy test to see, but as mentioned in 3, some are more sensitive than others, and if you had a sensitive one it might pick it up.
5. Finally, in some rare cases, certain cancers such as bladder cancer, or ovarian cysts, have been known to produce something similar to hCG, similar enough that it is picked up by the test and can become a false positive, but it is unusual at best.

And of course there is the usual things about not leaving it more than 10 minutes, old tests causing evaporation lines, and imagined lines.

The body contains a very small amount of hCG hormone when not pregnant, something like 1mIU/mL, undetectable on a pregnancy test, and dosen’t create excess amounts of the hormone hCG for any other reason. The hormone is basically there because a baby is a foreign body inside of you, like a tumour or someone elses organs in a transplant. Your body’s instant reaction is to reject it, get rid of it. The purpose of hCG is similar to the purpose of the drugs transplant patients take to stop rejection, except much more sophisticated and it only effects one ‘object’, the foetus. It stops rejection from happening. If the baby is unlikely to survive, or has trouble in the first weeks of development, the level of hCG drops, which is often used as an early indicator of miscarriage by doctors. If the baby passes away, the hCG disapears altogether, and the body rids itself of the foreign matter like any other.

It’s actually really cool to find out how everything comes together during pregnancy, and the way the body works and provides. Your physical body is trying to get rid of this, but it can’t because another part of your body is stopping it. Some people believe this could be the cause of morning sickness, this ‘war’ between whether baby stays or goes, just as we may get a fever, infection, vomiting, or some other symptom if something that shouldnt be inside us is inside us.

My neighbor is 9 months pregnant and she was telling me something about her ligaments not connected correctly that causes her to have pain in her vagina.

I wish I could remember what it was.

I would just ask your ob, maybe he/she knows what it is

Answer by yaimeli m
I am 39 weeks and I have been having this pain for about a month and the doc told me it was the baby’s head in position pushing down. Depending on how many weeks you are. It should be something normal. Its a horrible feeling. I also had it in the beginning of my 2nd trimester and that was because my baby was in the breach position and she was pushing down with her feet. Its a pretty bad pain/pressure that makes you feel like you have to run to the bathroom because everything is goin to come out. It should be normal. Its just the baby pushing. Trust me I have a lot of that happening to me.

GUIDAN ROUMDJI, Niger, 5 November 2008 Lying on a bed in the maternity ward of the UNICEF-supported Guidan Roumdji Hospital in eastern Niger, Tchima Abou knew she could have died. The 27-year-old woman had given birth to her sixth child, a girl, at home when she started bleeding and slipped into unconsciousness. Fortunately, she was taken to the district hospital on time. The doctors and nurses there managed to save her life. I cannot believe I am still alive, said Ms. Abou. In Niger, a woman’s lifetime risk of dying due to complications caused by pregnancy or childbirth is one in seven. Every year, 14000 Nigerien mothers die from pregnancy-related causes most of which are preventable and thousands of other women experience injuries, infections, diseases or disabilities that can cause lifelong suffering. It is so important for women in Niger to access antenatal care visits, because Niger has one of the highest maternal mortality ratios in the world, said the head of UNICEF Nigers maternal health programme, Marie-Claire Mutanda. Answer by Eileen Mae P
Implantation of fertilized egg on the uterus and miscarriage are two of the main causes of vaginal bleeding. You can start researching the internet about it for further explanation.

Answer by Alexa
It could also be “implantation” bleeding. This occurs 5-12 days after conception.

Answer by Miss D
Ive had kids b4 so listen up! One is a miscarriage thats a MAIN one Ive been there and you bleed a lot! The othere may be due to your placenta

Answer by SydneyMum101
Is that all the question asked? If so it’s a pretty vague question without a real answer, because it seriously depends on how far advanced the pregnancy is. And as why they have asked for TWO, that’s also strange, as there are lots of reasons. You also need to specify what you mea by bleeding – spotting or soaking pads? Bright red or brown? With or without pain?

How exactly was the question phrased?

If someone was to present at triage and say they had vaginal bleeding and they were pregnant the first thing you need to establish is how far advanced the pregnancy is and long the bleeding has been going on, how much blood, if it is accompanied by any pain or fever or dizziness, if the patient is nauseous, and if doing anything specific makes the bleeding better or worse (sex for example).

In the first trimester, the two main causes would probably be it may be an indication that the pregnancy has miscarried, or the pregnacy is ectopic.

In the second or third trimester the most common cause of bleeding would be a misplaced placenta (previa or abruption).

Another common cause of bleeding at any time during pregnancy is infection.

I hope this helps.

What causes a normal pregnancy with an ectopic at same time? and chances it happens?. Does anyone have any information for me….

Solutions:

Answer by Lisa S
Obviously, there were going to be fraternal twins but one egg didn’t make it all the way down through the fallopian tube. So sorry.

Answer by Jill
Well, the pregnancy would occur the same way any other twin pregnancy would occur, either with the fertilization of two eggs or the splitting of one embryo into two, with one twin implanting in the uterus and the other in the fallopian tube. I don’t have stats on how common it is, but it’s probably not very common – that is to say that every embryo stands the same chance at becoming an ectopic pregnancy regardless if it was a twin or not.

Answer by ~SmarterThanYou~
“In rare cases, a woman has a normal pregnancy in her uterus and an ectopic pregnancy at the same time. This is called a heterotopic pregnancy and it’s more likely to happen if you’ve had fertility treatments, such as in-vitro fertilization.
There’s no way to transplant an ectopic (literally, “out of place”) pregnancy into your uterus, so ending the pregnancy is the only option. In fact, if an ectopic pregnancy isn’t recognized and treated, the embryo will grow until the fallopian tube ruptures, resulting in severe abdominal pain and bleeding. It can cause permanent damage to the tube or loss of the tube, and if it involves very heavy internal bleeding that’s not treated promptly, it can even lead to death. Fortunately, the vast majority of ectopic pregnancies are caught in time.
Here’s how it happens: After conception, the fertilized egg travels down your fallopian tube on its way to your uterus. If the tube is damaged or blocked and fails to propel the egg toward your womb, the egg may become implanted in the tube and continue to develop there. Because almost all ectopic pregnancies occur in one of the fallopian tubes, they’re often called “tubal” pregnancies.
Much less often, an egg implants in an ovary, in the cervix, directly in the abdomen, or even in a c-section scar.”

does masturbating with female vegina causes pregnancy without letting the sperm inside vegina?.

Solutions:

Answer by Future Doctor
If you don’t ejaculate on, in, or even around her vagina, she will not get pregnant. Any time you are doing something sexual where both you and she are nude and there is a possibility of semen getting on/in her vagina, you should always where a condom just to be safe. Even if you all don’t have sexual intercourse, there are those very rare instances where a woman can be impregnated. If you are masturbating with a female or doing something where semen can come in contact with her vagina, wear a condom or, if you have recently touched your own semen, wash your hands thoroughly prior to touching her private parts. Hope this helps.

Stress can be a major factor in missing ur period.

Answer by Bettina
Stress would be the most common factor.
However if you are underweight your periods can also stop. This happened to me and they did not return until I got back to a normal weight.

Taking Plan B (the “morning after” pill) can delay a woman’s period. Even, in some cases, by a month!

What causes a negative pregnancy test result?

What causes a negative pregnancy test result?. besides you arent pregnant and its too early to test.
what about if you pee on it too long..?

Solutions:

Answer by Kayla
No. ive never heard of that having anything to do with it.

Answer by Mrs.Miller84
Peeing on a test for too long, or holding it in a collect urine sample for too long will not make a positive test become negative. I tested with two tests, both were the same brand, out of the same box, and used the same urine sample, and accidentally let one sit too long in the sample, and they both came out with the same result.

Answer by RED
the instructions do say that if you pee on it too long or not long enough that it could effect the results. Also if you don’t put it on a flat surface while the result is pending.. or if you don’t keep the tip of the test pointed downward while you are peeing on it. if your urine was clear bcuz you were drinking a lot to try to go ahead and test this could dilute the hormone in your urine when you are pregnant and say that you are not.. and also if you test in a cup instead of putting the stick in your urine stream (another option in testing) you are only suppossed to have the TIP in the urine or else it could make the result inaccurate.

Lying on your left side during pregnancy… causes me lots of hip pain?. I’m trying desperately to lie on my sides at night, but I wake up several times with terrible pain on my hip and thigh bones. Anyone have this? Any solutions?
I tried a pillow between my knees and it doesn’t take away the pain.

Solutions:

Answer by iampatsajak
I have the same issue. I toss and turn a lot but with the right placement of pillows I can usually get comfortable. One slightly under my belly, one between my legs, one at my head and one at my back.

My poor husband hasn’t had a pillow in months!

Answer by gypsy g
Have you tried putting a doubled up pillow between your knees? That would help me to keep both my legs in line with my hips when I was on my side.
hehehehe….I also did the same thing as the person above me.

Answer by *Jaime*
I put one pillow betweeen my knees and it helps relive some of the pressure. I usually toss & turn anyways due to not being able to get comfy!! Try the pillow. It definitly helped me!!

Answer by My3Boys
When you wake up with hip pain on your left, switch to your right side. What you’re experiencing is very common.

If you can – go for a prenatal massage and have them do a real workup on your glutes. Those muscles are tightening up to compensate for your loosening joints.

Also, try soaking in nice warm (not too hot) baths, and sleeping with a body pillow is a great help.

Answer by justplainsweet83
Only advise I can give is keep switching sides… maybe get yourself a body pillow or a preggy pillow… Also something that comforts me more is that my side of the bed is against the wall,so I prop a pillow on the wall behind me so I am not actually lying on my hip.. but on my butt cheek a bit… of course its only good for half the time.. but hey..better than nothing! Solutions:

Answer by Christy Leigh Is A Mommy 2 Be
The baby is on ur right side. Your ribs can be hurting due to feet in them. and pelvic area and low back also due to the baby Growing.
Your chest is growing full of milk.
your legs hurt do to the pressure the baby is putting on them.
I get headaches also. My doctor said it from all the worrying about the pain that causes it. Just Lay down with a cold Compress and Take a nap.

Answer by 4 weeks to go!
It really just depends on how far along you are, dear.

I’m 36 weeks and a few days and all of that just means she’s getting ready to come out! :)

If it’s early on, you’re body is just getting ready to house your little one for the next 9 months!

But if it’s really horrible pains or anything that seems just wayyy too severe, then you should definitely tell your doctor!

What causes breasts to hurt in early pregnancy?. Does breast pain affect every women in early stages of pregnancy? Just wondering- I have a mate who could be preggers???

Solutions:

Answer by K V
Changes in hormones. It also happens to some women during their periods.

Answer by tj
During pregnancy the body gets ready for things that are needed later after the baby is born also. The breasts are designed for breastfeeding, so they can and often do get sore or tender noticeably in pregnancy as they are full of more hormones as the body is changing for birth and the breasts are adjusting to lactate when the baby will be born.
The breasts can be sore in pms also but that is short lived and not as intense or ongoing as the pregnancy pressure ,etc. The breasts are sore longer than in pms for being pregnant. It hurts to the extent that a pain reliever can not reduce or help as it does often in the pms pain for that.

Answer by Beleeve
well, that’s usually one of the first signs…. but breast pain could be a cause of anything… tell her to make sure she isn’t pregnant, and then if not, she should go and get a breast exam to make sure she doesn’t have a lump. You have to be extremely careful with matters of the body. Often people find themselves with life-threatening matters because things were not caught “soon enough”. Good Luck!

what are the causes besides pregnancy , for ones periods being late?. periods are at least 4-5 days late , took three tests and they all negative, had a yeast infection with last period.
i am a 32 day cycle but still 4-5 day late.
I’m not on any contraceptive and normally get periods every month! in the week i was surpose to get periods i changed my eating patterns could this be the problem ?

Solutions:

Answer by Harriet J
4-5 days isn’t much, do you mean only this period or every period? If it’s every period then maybe you just have a 32 day cycle.

Sometimes it just happens.

Also stress or other body changes like weight loss can make a difference, or if you’ve taken any hormones like the morning-after pill.

See your doctor if you’re worried or if it doesn’t come after a longer time but if you’re not pregnant then probably nothing’s wrong.

Stress or being sick can cause it to go off kilter or your cycle could be changing.

What causes rashes during pregnancy and what can you use to treat it?.

Solutions:

Answer by Spanks
I’ve had them and mostly it’s just caused by the hormones or heat. Your skin also gets really sensitive so try using Dreft to do your laundry or scentless lotion. I had a heat rash so I filled a sock up with corn starch and would kind of hit myself with it (LOL, sounds weird, I know). the cornstarch would puff out and pick up any extra moisture on my skin. Worked better than any over the counter creams and stuff I could find.

Answer by butterfly25baby
Anything can cause rashes because your body is going through changes. Try the cornstarch that was mentioned or Gold Bond, Baby Powder, and make sure to try and where clothes that don’t cause much perspiration if possible. Gold Bond is medicated so it may burn but I know from experience it dries a rash up really quick and the cornstarch my stepdad uses for heat rash and helps him out, he keeps a sock with cornstarch in it inside a baggie so that things dont get covered but uses it all the time. Baby Powder is more easy going on sensitive skin but works for rashes like on babies.

www.ovariancystmiracle.com An ovarian cyst syndrome is a condition that is associated with a woman when she is in the child bearing age. In other words, if she is Ovulating Or Producing The Egg every month, she can also have ovarian cysts. However according to statistics, as many as 18% Of All Women Even After Menopause, can get cysts in their ovaries. This is quite a surprise because the cysts are usually caused when there is no pregnancy in a particular cycle, and if the follicle or the egg does not get dissolved after ovulation. In menopause, the woman is of course not ovulating anymore, and so there cannot be a pregnancy or a process where the egg is dissolved. Why Do Some Women Have Cysts After Menopause? The blame can be put on the Corpus Luteum, which is a type of cell found within the ovary. The corpus luteum is responsible for making Progestogen And Estrogen that the body needs for maintaining the endometrium, which is the inner membrane of the uterus. When a woman reaches menopause, she will stop ovulating and will not produce eggs any more — in other words, these functions become dormant. However the corpus luteum does not become dormant in menopause. And sometimes these cells become filled with fluids, and when this happens, the Cyst Can Grow Within The Ovary. The fact is, ovarian cysts in Post Menopausal Women have been noticed for many years now and it has taken the medical fraternity by surprise. But recent studies have concluded that this phenomenon may

What causes sore breasts?. My breasts are very sore. The nipples are sore and the tops by my chest and on the sides are sore. Breasts also sore when i lift my arms I am 18 what could cause this

Solutions:

normally that is caused by a change in hormones. Being on your period can make your breasts tender and so can being on the pill. being pregnant will also make your breasts sore.

either your periods would start or too much suck by your boyfriend.

Why are my breasts sore only the only the sides?. I dont understand why they are only sore on the sides. My boobs are also like burning tingling where they are sore. In my experience, when it comes to PMS that’s usually where it starts and ends. By this I mean, as my breasts just begin to swell and get sore, I can feel the pain most at the sides, and near my armpits (that’s actually what I do to test if “my period’s on it’s way”) Then, as the week progresses, the entire breasts becomes a bit more sensitive. And then, again, once my period is about a day away, the pain subsides but still lingers a bit at the sides. Then it’s gone altogether until the following month.

Sounds like PMS to me. But then again, PMS and Pregnancy symptoms are very similar as you know…. this is just my experience, not facts.

All the best of luck to you and your husband….

Sides of breast sore?. I am 6 days past ovulation and on progesterone suppositories since two days ago. This morning I awoke to soreness on the sides of my breasts more on the left than the right. I am wondering if it is too early to feel this. I have had two miscarriages both of which I felt breast tenderness while on progesterone. The two chemical pregnancies( the egg didnt implant but was fertilized) while on progesterone I had no breast tenderness. Am I pregnant or is that normal? What do you think?

Answer by Red Sox lover
I dont know if you are pregnant but, i will pray for it to be true for you!! The best of luck and health to you!!!

Answer by Megan C
It is not too early for you to show this sign of pregnancy. Good Luck!

Answer by Huerter0
That’s where I’m hurting the most (though it’s the right more than the left). I’m about 20 DPO and confirmed “with child.” The tenderness was one of the first symptoms I felt, maybe not 6 days past DPO, probably more like 10. Before that, I was abnormally exhausted, and THAT was my first clue.

However, the hormones themselves can do that to you, I believe, whether from the suppositories or PMS. That’s the trouble with early detection: symptoms are almost indistinguishable from PMS. You can take a test at 10 DPO, and even then there might not be enough HCG to register (and even then, as you know, it might only be “chemical”).

In short, it’s possible it’s a sign, but it’s too early to know, I’m afraid, especially with all of those factors.

sore breasts on the sides

what could be the cause of the sides of my breasts being sore?. im 15, andi first started to realize that ive been getting reallly itchy breasts around the nipple. both sides of my breasts are sore. this itchiness AROUND MY NIPPLES has been going on for about 5 days. everyday ,…. im worried that it could be that im pregnant because my boyfriend and i fooled around 16 days ago… he didnt put his penis inside me but he cummed all over my vagina walls. could this mean i pregnant or not?

Solutions:

Answer by Mystery Writer
well it could mean your pregnant or it might just mean your breasts are goring.. witch could be they are growing as in puberty or growing because your pregnant…
if you want to be pregnant then i hope your pregnant…
if you don’t want to be pregnant then i hope they are just growing…

Answer by pilar
No, dear, you’re not pregnant. He actually has to put his penis up into the vagina and ejaculate inside of you. Its most likely growing pains from your breasts growing. You’ll have that itching not only around the nipples and the soreness will spread. It’s nothing to worry about. :)

Answer by Jayne O’Connor
you’re definitely going to want to take a pregnancy test if you miss your next period. Having sore breasts could be an indicator of pregnancy, but more likely it’s a side effect of menstruation. Often when women are about to get their periods, their breasts become sore. And, as a safety measure from now on- use a condom! Not only will it help to prevent pregnancy, but it will also protect against STDs and STIs. And, if you’re sexually active, you should be seeing an OB-GYN regularly and, as a safety measure if you haven’t done so already, you and your boyfriend should get tested for STDs, even if you were both virgins to start.

Oh, and SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT. the user “pilar” is WRONG when they said his penis has to have entered your vagina to get you pregnant. All he has to do is ejaculate NEAR the vagina for you to become pregnant. Semen can climb the walls of your vagina (that’s why everyone calls them little swimmers!) and attach to the egg. Pregnancy is slightly less likely, but STILL 100% POSSIBLE.

How sore do your breasts get when you are prego?. I had sex during my ovulation. I got my period right on time, just slightly lighter than normal. Normal is extremely heavy for me. Now my breasts are getting really sore on the sides. Can you describe what the soreness is like?

Sore breasts and some nausea but not pregnant?. Okay. Furst thoughts are pregnancy but I have been on birth control for two years, never missed a pill, and always use a condom when having sex. so i am doubtful to pregnancy. my left breast was sore on the side and now my right one is too. its only sore when I press on the sides. in the past week and a half, I have woken up three nights nauseas but as soon as I vomit I feel better. what can this mean other than pregnancy? there is a very small chance cam be pregnant so could this just be from my birth control? the sides of my breasts will be sore sometimes on and off for the past few years. but never at the same time. does anybody else get this? I just came off my period about a week ago. it was lighter than usual but still normal for the most part.

Solutions:

Answer by cajuninafrica
Well the thing to do here is to go to the doctor and have him do a blood test to check for pregnancy. Just because you are on the pill does not mean you arent pregnant. My wife was on the pill for over a year and I was using a condom and she got pregnant for our youngest son. If you are pregnant and are still taking the pill you could be doing a lot of damage to the baby.

Using easy to follow, step-by-step instructions, I am going to show you how to make delicious oven roasted chicken breast. This recipe is fast, easy, and can be done by anybody, no matter there skill level, in a short amount of time. Its inexpensive and goes well with any combanation of veggies and side dishes.

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make her impressive Baked Chicken breasts with Sour Cream Gravy recipe. This chicken is slow-baked in the oven and is lusciously tender with a mushroom-sour cream gravy that is tangy and as smooth as silk! Ingredients: 2.5 pounds chicken breasts (I came out with 10 fairly evenly-sized serving pieces.) 2.25 oz. jar of dried beef or sliced deli ham (I used the dried beef, but only 10 half circles of it.) 1 pint (16 oz.) sour cream 10 3/4 oz.can condensed cream of mushroom soup 5 or 6 slices of bacon, mostly cooked oil spray for baking dish Trim all excess fat and gristle from the chicken breasts, and then cut them into pieces that can be rolled up. If your pieces are thick and hard to roll, try pounding them flat with a mallet or hammer covered with aluminum foil. Place 1 or 2 half rounds of dried beef, or an appropriate amount of sliced ham on top of an uncooked chicken breast. Roll the chicken breast, until it encompasses the filling. Close with a toothpick, and place in an 8-inch by 10-inch baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Continue until you have used up all your chicken breasts and filling. now, make your gravy. Combine 1 pint of sour cream and a 10 3/4 oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup. Other than pregnancy and stress, what causes a delay in your period?

Other than pregnancy and stress, what causes a delay in your period?. I’ve taken 3 HPTs and they are all negative. But I’m on CD 52 and no sign of my period. Argh!

Sometimes women who are very physically active have irregular periods and also women who are very obese have the same problem. I hope that helps.

hormonal changes can effect menstruation, as well as diet. you’d be surpised at what could cause your aunt flo to be tardy.

Answer by Katie
Traveling for long periods of time and playing lots of sports can also delay your periods. So don’t worry too much :)

Your body could just be going through a change. I think it is every six years that this happens. Or it could be a combination of smaller things that are adding up. If it is truly worrying you then you might want to go to your doctor and ask their opinion…

Stress can cause a delayed or skipped and well as dieting and any changes in your diet.

Answer by *[C-Section scheduled 4/20]*
Stress, change in diet, rapid weight loss or weight gain.

Answer by heartlostangel
Stress, abnormal hormone levels, tons of things. I had a missed period for 8 months as a teenager, and was totally freaked out thinking I was preggers. I wasn’t, just my hormones had gotten messed up, so the OB gave me some handy little pills that I had to take and they started me right up again.
It’s not a sign of infertility either, I was later on depo and have since conceived one(maybe 2, we need medical confirmation) children.

Answer by Mandy
Stress. that’s the biggest thing.
even having a little bit of stress can cause your period to be late.
Drugs also, when I use to do drugs, I could go like 2 1/2 months without my period.

is it true that eating fish during pregnancy causes miscarriage?.

Solutions:

Answer by Palestinian Muslima N Proud(OIC)
no, thats not true at all. Actually fish is good for u and the baby.

Answer by Anasmom
No. Too much fish is not good b/c of the high mercury levels. I would limit it to once a week or so.

Answer by pat
Fish that contain high levels of mercury should be avoided. Mercury consumed during pregnancy has been linked to developmental delays and brain damage. A sample of these types of fish include: shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish. Canned, chunk light tuna generally has a lower amount of mercury than other tuna, but still should only be eaten in moderation. Certain types of fish used in sushi should also be avoided due to high levels of mercury.

Answer by Athena
Eating too much fish is bad, but one serving per week is good. Eating too much (mercury) causes birth defects, but I have not heard it causes miscarriages.

Answer by Texasbabe84
No..no and no…You can eat fish, just not a whole lot because of mercury content..But i have never heard that it causes m/c!

does anybody know what causes a chemical pregnancy?. i was four weeks pregnant or so i thought, went to the doctors this morning b/c i was bleeding and cramping really bad, she said that i had a chemical pregnancy. will i ever be able to conceive a child and what caused it

Solutions:

Answer by rpm92
So your doctor says you have a chemical pregnancy.
What is a chemical pregnancy? She said that you could conceive a child but does not know what might have caused it?

1. get a new doctor
2. There is no number two

Answer by PaulCyp
No offense intended, but why would you leave your doctor’s office, and then ask such a medical question here? Why didn’t you ask the doctor?

Answer by Trevor H
Are you sure she said chemical pregnancy, and not cervical pregnancy?
Cervical pregnancy is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy in which the pregnancy implants in the lining of the endocervical canal. It accounts for less than 1 percent of ectopic pregnancies The incidence is approximately 1 in 9000 deliveries . Cervical pregnancy may be more common in pregnancies achieved through assisted reproductive technologies; it occurs in 0.1 percent of in vitro fertilization pregnancies and accounts for 3.7 percent of IVF ectopic gestations
CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
The most common symptom of cervical pregnancy is vaginal bleeding, which is often profuse and painless. Lower abdominal pain or cramps occur in fewer than one-third of patients; pain without bleeding is rare. It is important to think about the possibility of cervical pregnancy in such patients since early diagnosis is critical to avoidance of complications and successful treatment.

Is The H1N1 Swine Flu Vaccine Causing Miscarriages? organichealthadviser.com Is the H1N1 swine flu vaccine causing miscarriages? Is the vaccine safe for pregnant women to take? Those are questions that thousands upon thousands of pregnant women have wrestled with over the past couple of months as they have decided what to do about the swine flu. The WHO and US health authorities insisted that the H1N1 swine flu vaccine was perfectly safe for pregnant women and pushed them to the front of the line. So thousands of women did run out and get themselves injected with the vaccine. Now reports are pouring in from all over the United States of women who have lost their babies very quickly after receiving the H1N1 vaccine. Many of these women are overcome with pain and a feeling of loss and are looking for answers. They end up on sites like this one because the mainstream media won’t touch this story with a ten foot pole (lest they offend the pharmaceutical giants and their millions of dollars in ad money). Fortunately there are alternatives to the mainstream media now. The following are stories from 9 of our readers who have lost their babies very soon after getting the H1N1 swine flu vaccine. We challenge anyone who still believes in the safety of this vaccine to read all of the following stories and then to explain to the rest of us why we should not be concerned. The truth is that the H1N1 swine flu vaccine is NOT safe for pregnant women. The following are unedited personal

What are some causes of a missed period other than pregnancy?. I just found out my 15 yr old daughter is having sex. Her period is 2-3wks late her breasts hurt and she has felt nausea. The home pregnancy test was negative. Any ideas of what else could be wrong?

Solutions:

Answer by [[When it Rains]]
Her period is probably just late.

Answer by melly180
First of all you should search this on Google and it will give you thorough answers. But stress can be a huge factor, it may not just delay, but eliminate a monthly period. It could also be her body just going through changes, or she could just be irregular. It could also be drugs or weight loss/weight gain. If she is still really early in the pregnancy, the test may have just not caught it. You can try this site or find another helpful one for yourself.

Answer by ShortStuff
Like others have said, it could be stress, poor health and many other things. I would still take another preg. test again and make sure shes not pregnant cuz those are classic signs of pregnancy. Unless shes on birth control.

Answer by tats431
stress that she could be pregnant would make her late,,,,,,,,,,, i promise u

Pregnancy Journey from weeks 28 through 30. Due June 10th, 2008. After dealing with infertility due to PCOS(Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), many tests and 3 rounds of Clomid(medication used to induce ovulation) We are overjoyed to say that We are FINALLY pregnant!!! What is polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)? Polycystic (pah-lee-SIS-tik) ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a health problem that can affect a woman’s menstrual cycle, ability to have children, hormones, heart, blood vessels, and appearance. With PCOS, women typically have: high levels of androgens (AN-druh-junz). These are sometimes called male hormones, although females also make them. missed or irregular periods many small cysts (sists) in their ovaries. Cysts are fluid-filled sacs. Lack of ovulation is usually the reason for fertility problems in women with PCOS. Several medications that stimulate ovulation can help women with PCOS become pregnant. Even so, other reasons for infertility in both the woman and man should be ruled out before fertility medications are used. Also, there is an increased risk for multiple births (twins, triplets) with fertility medications. For most patients, clomiphene citrate (Clomid®, Serophene®) is the first choice therapy to stimulate ovulation. What tests are used to diagnose polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)? There is no single test to diagnose PCOS. Your doctor will take a medical history, perform a physical exam, and possibly take some tests to rule out other causes of your symptoms

What are causes of morning sickness besides pregnancy?. I know I”m not pregnant, but these past few days, I haven’t been able to keep food down in the morning. Could the recent death of my grandma be a possible cause?

Solutions:

Answer by Shaniqua♥
it could be that, or any number of things….
i personally, missed countless day of school because i have the same problem, but mine is really late at night/early morning..
i would feel sick and mistake it for an actual stomach bu gor something
but yes you can actually greive/worry yourself ‘sick’

Answer by mr.schlemmer
Morning sickness is a term referring to pregnancy, but as you’ve stated you know your not pregnant. Yes, stress, traumatic experiences, and food poisoning are other causes of nausea and vomiting. I recommend seeing your physician immediately because if by small chance that it is food poisoning it might get worst.

Answer by larsor4
Could be stress you’re feeling from that tragic event. It could also be due to low blood pressure when you wake up, or even dehydration. Try drinking a small glass of water before you go to bed

Personally, I’ve found that taking a multi-vitamin was making me sick everyday. I can’t take vitamins in the morning, even with food, or I will be seeing it all again in about an hour.

Maybe look at what you’re eating as well. Do you eat late at night before going to bed…that could be contributing. I can’t handle very large meals any time of the day, so in the morning, I’ll get ready for the day first, then have a light yogurt. Then maybe a few hours later, I’ll take a break and have a piece of fruit. This goes on throughout the day. While I don’t eat lots at once, I still get my calories in because I eat 6-7 times during the course of a day.

Not saying that that is your issue, but just suggesting that, until this subsides, you might want to downsize your breakfast or put it off another hour or so if you’re not too hungry.

Q&A: What are some causes of a false negative pregnancy test?

What are some causes of a false negative pregnancy test?. I haven’t had a period since Oct. 25. I have taken pregnancy tests and am having pregnancy symptoms but all the tests come up negative. I even went to my local health dept and had a test done. Since it was also negative, I was told to visit my doctor. I have an appt to go for a blood test but I’m just wondering, if I am pregnant, why are the tests negative?
I know that I didn’t do the tests wrong. And I’m sure someone at the health dept has enough experience to know how to do a urine test. I know that I haven’t tested too early b/c if I were pregnant, I would be around 12 weeks.

Solutions:

Answer by Tara S
Also, keep in mend that home pregnancy tests are not fool proof. There is a chance that you have missed your period and are actually pregnant. If this is so, then your pregnancy test result is a false negative. A false negative result can be caused due to many reasons, like :

* Early detection attempt
One reason for a false negative pregnancy test could be that you took the test too early. Pregnancy tests vary in their sensitivity which means how soon they can detect the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in your urine. It is possible that although your ovum might be fertilized, meaning you may be pregnant, but your body has not started secreting enough Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) for the test to measure. Your body needs time for the hormone to rise to a high enough level to be detected in a test.
* Erratic technique
There is a possibility that while using the home pregnancy test strip you either did not dip it well or did not hold it well in your urine stream. This error in technique may give false negative results.
* Missed reaction time
For accuracy in home pregnancy tests it is essential that you read the test results in the stipulated reaction time. If you let the test sit for too long (after the instructions on the box tell you), the test is invalid. This may cause it to show false negative results.

For me it was low HCG in my urine which was detected in the blood.

Answer by Hates dumb people
it should shown up by now.

You might have something different wrong with you.

If not than you have low pregnancy hormones

Answer by prettyma2
Home pregnancy test usually have an accuracy of 97% if done properly especially if it is done after a missed period or at least 14days after a possible conception.

False negative result usually happen in the following cases:
>>>>>If done too early when the body has not produced enough HCG [Human Chorionic Gonadotropin], in case of pregnancy

>>>>>Error in the following the technique [the strip must be dipped well enough]

>>>>>Reaction Time is not observed [the time needed for the strip to react with the urine is essential].

If your blood test turns out negative again, then u really are not pregnant.

Do remember that even if u normally have your period every month,
various reasons can cause u to have a missed period.

Answer by stagecrazy
There are only two reason I can think of (tho there might be others).
1. The test is defective and the line that reacts to hCG wasn’t the right one and they might have put a second control line (which extremely unlikely)

2. is the fact that you either haven’t built up enough hCG to register yet or that you were pregnant but didn’t take the test before you miscarried.

Depending how far after the miscarriage you test the hCG can have decreased enough to not register anymore tho i don’t know the time limit (or time frame) for the decrease in the hCG is after a miscarriage.

You could also just be worried or stressed enough to miss your period.
There is another possibility that has nothing to do with a pregnancy test, tho this reason is very very very rare, depending on your age, but you could be going through the early stages of menopause. If you are young it is very very very very unlikely but I know for a fact from my grandmother and all my family that my grandmother started her menopause when she was only 33 years old. Though very rare its has happened to more people than anyone would think.

I wish you luck and good news!

How far along does a pregnancy have to be before it causes pain if it is a tubular pregnancy?. I have a history of ovarian cysts (PCOS), but I also have the Mirena. What causes teen girls to ignore a pregnancy until the birth?. I’m talking about the occasional case of a young woman who somehow ignores a pregnancy until a baby suddenly arrives. This often ends in tragedy when the girl panics and abandons the child. What influences could lead to this behavior?

1) On a small scale – what sort of family dynamics might she have, what sort of personality, etc. What might pre-dispose a young woman to ignoring a pregnancy?

2) On a larger scale, is our society somehow leading to this problem? Is there such shame involved with teen pregnancy? Is it a lack of resources for mothers? Is it an emphasis on career over motherhood? Or, could it be an emphasis on avoiding abortion? Any and all ideas are welcome.
A pregnancy is often not seen as a blessing, even for women with adequate resources. Even a surprise pregnancy in a 25 year old with a job is greeted with “oh no!” by friends and family. That’s what I mean by “an emphasis on career over motherhood”.

Solutions:

Answer by uz
if the teen is really young and hasn’t started having REGULAR periods, the skipped periods may be normal for them. And some of them don’t show, or jsutify the changes enough not to realize that they really are pregnant. I know an adult woman with PCO who did not know about her pregnancy till she went into labor. I see how that could be a blessing

Answer by ₤Э\/Ĩ†¥
juniper it’s a process of denial until reality hits & realize they don’t have the resources to care for one. young girls don’t have the experience, wisdom, responsibility, or knowledge to carry out what must be done.

when society says this is what you deserve then extreme mechanisms set in such as the woman who drowned her 2 girls.

Answer by kessie
my guess would be straight up denial mainly because if a lack of menstruation doesn’t arose her curiosity, putting on weight won’t either. Perhaps she’s waiting for a sign from God.

Blaming society just creates a scapegoat, something to pin the blame on. There’s no longer shame involved with teen pregnancies in this culture anyway. For heaven’s sake they’re handing out birth control in middle school. A lack of resources? I seriously doubt it unless she lives on a mountaintop by herself. What would an emphasis on career over motherhood have to do with your question? The baby’s still going to be born. Avoiding abortion is the only answer with any credence – to me.

Answer by faustyfats
speaking as a person who was pregnant I can answer the reasons that I did not tell anyone. Yes I knew I was pregnant. Did I try to ignore it? yes I did. My reason (although I know how stupid they are now) was mainly fear. Fear my mother would disown me, fear my boyfriend would leave me, fear that my friends would no longer want to be around me. Fear that my older sister would kill me. Shame that I had let myself get this way. Fear that people at school would find out.

I waited so long to tell an “adult” that a doctor would not see me as I was to far along and had not seen a doctor. The only doctor who would take me was the local health department. Now 17 years later and my daughter I gave birth to is now the age I was when she got pregnant. I make sure she is informed and aware of what can happen. I knew she had a steady b/f for a year, I took her down and had her put on birth control. Want to break the cycle.

Answer by players2069
The other part of this is that society is teaching children “ignore it and it’ll go away.”
When the baby doesn’t go away, the teen panics and it ends in tragedy.

things I forgot to mention in last update and talking of hpv in pregnancy. You’re most likely to get a genital HPV infection from vaginal or anal intercourse. It’s possible but uncommon to transmit the virus through genital contact without penetration, through oral sex, or by touching the genitals. And a mother can transmit HPV to her baby during birth, but this is also uncommon. In many cases there are no obvious symptoms. If you do get symptoms, they can take anywhere from a month to a year or longer to show up after you’re exposed to genital HPV. A few of the more than 30 different strains of genital HPV may cause you to develop genital warts. (Some types of HPV cause the common warts you can get on your hands and feet, but genital HPV strains usually affect only the genital area.) These warts are very contagious. Researchers estimate that about 65 percent of people who have sex with a partner with warts will end up developing warts themselves. The warts usually show up in or around your vagina and vulva, near your anus and in your rectum, on your cervix, and sometimes on the skin near the groin area. (You can also get warts in your mouth and throat from performing oral sex on an infected partner, but this is rare.) The warts are soft and skin-colored or lighter. They can be small or large, flat or raised. There may be one or many, sometimes growing in clusters with a cauliflower-like appearance. They’re usually painless, though they may occasionally itch, burn, or

I would call the doctors office and explain! The first question they are going to ask you is if you have had sex. Since that is not it, they will let you know wether you need to go to the emergency room or not. ABSOLUTELY do not risk anything with pregnancy, if you call in they do not charge you and it is much better than getting old wives tales off of the internet.

I bled through most of my pregnancy with my son. I know for me the first time I spotted i was about 8 weeks and scared to death i was having a m/c. They couldnt tell me why I did just that for some women its normal. I know its hard not to panic about it, but I’m sure everything is fine. have you called your dr? If not you should because it could be something serious or maybe just a bladder infection

Answer by Rwebgirl
I’m not sure why, but one thing you should find out is if you’re RH negative. That means you have a negative blood type (like O-). If you do (only 20% of people do), then you need to get a shot within 72 hrs of when you bleed. I’m just letting you know because I’m RH negative and had implantation bleeding. If it’s just a little blood with no pain, you’re probably fine, but it doesn’t hurt to talk to your Dr. Good luck.

how much stress can a baby take in the early weeks of pregnancy before it causes a miscarriage?. if someone could please give me an answer with facts and real-life scenarios even from personal experience thatd be great
no im not planning on self aborting -_- im asking because i just went through something really traumatic and stressful and i believe i am about 6 weeks pregnant

Solutions:

Answer by DKE
why?
i hope your not planning on self aborting..
your kinda making it sound like you want to.

Answer by Expecting our 2nd Dec 30th 2011
well stress alone wont cause a miscarriage, and it would take a great amount of physical impact to do any damage. During the first 12 weeks, most miscarriages are caused by chromosome problems etc that cause the baby to not be able to grow properly.

When I was in my first trimester with my first pregnancy I had recently lost my mom, my grandma’s cancer was back, my dad became paralyzed, I was planning a wedding, working, going to school and about to move to another state- point being the body can take a lot of stress. My daughter came out healthy thankfully.

Answer by stinkerbutt2u
Stress will not usually cause a miscarriage. I went thru the death of my parents during my pregnancy from terrible circumstances and I had a healthy baby girl at the end.

What causes a womans water to break during pregnancy?. I am just curious about the different factors that can cause a womans water to break naturally.
I am 39 weeks along and I am barely 2cm dilated but I am 90% effaced. I am also wondering if the increasing pressure of my babys head on my cervix could cause my water to break? How common is a false pregnancy test and what causes one?. Are false negatives very common? Have you had one and actually been pregnant? Could it be false at 5-6 weeks?

Solutions:

Answer by Kathleena
If u end up testing 2 early then false negatives can be very common but if u test when u are suppose and its negative then ur probably not pregnant. When I 1st tested at a week late 4 my period I got alot what looked like evap lines and not actually positives. So kept testing until I got my pink positive which was about 2 weeks late. Hope this helps and good luck.

Answer by SkkyyHi!gh
False negatives are far more common then false positives. Only because the hormones in your body can change very quickly and while you may get a negative test one week, you could get a positive the next week if you are pregnant. Women see false negatives all the time and assume they are not pregnant when in reality the hormone level hasn’t raised yet. When I took my first test at home it was positive. Two weeks later my doc did a blood test, which was positive and told me I was 7 weeks.

Answer by Baby #1 due 6/16/11 it’s a GIRL!(:
I know people receive false negatives when they test too early! I received positives at 3 weeks & 1 day prego which is early, I’m not sure how common that is!

Answer by kaylaxkitten’s first babe due 7.11.11
they’re incredibly common and are from hormone levels so low the test can’t pick it up…its often from testing too early, when the hormone level hasnt built up high enough to test positive yet…or from your urine being diluted from drinking too much water and no waiting long enough before going to the bathroom again before testing which is why they say to test with first morning urine as it is most concentrated…it is possible to get a false negative at 5-6 weeks, but most people will have gotten an accurate result by then…if you havent gotten a period or positive by 6 weeks then i’d make a doctors appointment to get a blood test done.

Answer by Jennifer Ashley
False negatives are a lot more common than false positives.

Pregnancy tests get a lot more reliable the longer you are pregnant, and by the time you miss your period there is only a small margin of error, of course, we’ve all heard stories about women who didn’t get a positive pregnancy test until they were 6 months along. It’s certainly not common though.

Things that can cause a false negative:
1) Diluted urine – you need to test with your first morning urine. That means, get out of bed and pee on that stick right. The hormone is most concentrated first thing in the morning.

2) Not far enough along – Sometimes women test too early, or misremember the date of their last period.

3) A faulty test – I’m sure it happens!

Missed menstrual period causes Test showed negative, and ensure that no pregnant women often why there is no normal to feel worried about menstruation. In fact, pregnancy is not the only reason for missed menstrual period, menstruation may be indeed a sign of other health problems, here are some other easily ignored.

What can be the causes and results of “measuring bigger” than your pregnancy weekly stage?. When I went to the OB she told me that my uterus was much bigger than she would expect to find in a 28 week pregnant woman. She ordered an ultrasound, which I will have on Thursday at 1pm.

But, here’s my question.

What can cause someone to “measure big”
What is does this mean for the pregnancy?
Does this mean that I will deliver early?
What does this say about my baby?

This is usually not a problem, your baby is just growing at a faster rate than average…the ultrasound is just to make sure there is no abnormal growth or unusual. Your pregnancy will be normal and labor will come when the baby is ready, not big :) good luck

Answer by rainyday2289
could be twins…… or you are further along then you and your doc thought ….. or the baby is big and needs to be watched to make shure not to get to large to be delivered because that can some times happen…..my aunt had to have a c section at 7 months because her baby was already 10 pounds and would be bad to have gone full term….

Answer by ozncj
You can measure big if you are having a large baby (if you are diabetic) or twin pregnancies ( but you would know by now if you had twins in there) or if you have excess amniotic fluid (your doc can measure this during the ultrasound). It does not mean you will deliver early. I have 4 children and measured large with all of them. I didn’t have excess fluid or twins and only 1 big baby out of 4 (6.11, 6.15, 7.7, and 9.3!) So it could mean nothing at all like it did for me as all my children are healthy. You will know more once you have the ultrasound but don’t worry yourself because it could just be the way your body is. :)

Answer by Katiesmama11
I measured 2 weeks ahead, consistently with my first child, at the 34 week ultrasound they found that she was bigger then average, but not huge. I was at risk for a big baby, but I was able to delivery vaginally. She was 9 pounds even, but she was also 2 weeks late at 42 weeks. I was always 100% of our date of conception, so there was no chance that we were off with our dates. I would wait and see what the ultrasound says and go from there. My son was actually bigger then my daughter but I never once measured ahead with him. The measurement of the fundus statistically gives accurate information but there are always outliners. Best wishes for a healthy little one!

Answer by ~ Cindy V, mum of 3 ~
normally its nothing to really worry about they would just want to find the cause and deal with it

causes could be
- just having a big baby
- gestational diabetes causing a larger baby (very common)
- further along than first thought
- more than one baby
- extra fluid or uterus is just growing larger
- position of baby causing measurement to be inaccurate

it may mean an early delivery or a c-section if doctor doesn’t believe baby can pass through birth canal

it does not mean that there is necessarily anything wrong with the baby it probably means you are just having a bigger than average one.
My babies all measured bigger for the amount of weeks i was but they were all fine and between 8-9 lbs.

wait and see what the ultrasound says and then deal with it as it arises. It really shouldn’t be too much cause for concern though

What causes nausea other than pregnancy?. For the last month I have been getting very sick to my stomach and a feeling of dizziness. I feel as if I need to vomit and I get these feelings like butterflies in my stomach and I feel really weird. I also have been getting these terribly headaches, usually around the left side of my temple. And it seems nothing will make the nausea or the headaches go away….except time. I am getting worried, I have made a doctors appt. for this Friday but in the meantime I would like to know if anyone has experienced this before or what causes it. I know I am not pregnant, that has been ruled out. So any other ideas? Thanks.

I have been feeling something similar off and on.

It could be sinuses, migraines, vision, or a more serious problem.

Your doctor’s appointment is definitely what I would have recommended.

Check out this website: www.webmd.com

It was a big help to me. Go to it, then the symptom checker, and detail your symptoms, then it will come up with possible causes and recommendations for what you should do but it sounds like the doctor is the best thing for you right now.

What causes painful back spasms during pregnancy?. I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant and I’ve been having painful back spasms in my lower back. They come on randomly but sometimes if I’m upset or scared they are evident as well. I’m just wanting to know what causes these type of painful spasms and if it’s anything to be worried about.

Solutions:

Answer by Mary{Dallen’s Girl}
it could be braxton hicks contractions (the practice contractions that your body does)

Answer by Ruth
There is a ligament that connects your uterus to your spine and towards the end of pregnancy, your back is going to start killing you.
Go to Motherhood or any maternity store and ask for a belly sling. It is a wide peice of elastic that you wear around your back and under your belly to help take the weight of the baby off of your back. You can wear it under your clothes and it will make such a huge difference that I guarantee you’ll wear it out of the store.
They are cheap and a good maternity store will let you try them on first to find the one that’s best for you.

Answer by May Ann
Maybe it’s your baby pinching a nerve. Could be that.

Answer by Jason K
There are a series of ligaments that attach from your uterus to your spine. Also, your hip (pelvis) is shifting to accommodate the added weight of your baby pulling in the front of you. During my wife’s pregnancy, she saw a chiropractor twice a week as well as the occasional massage therapist. Another thing to check out is to make sure that you are getting the right nutrients such as your B vitamins and Potassium. A deficiency in those nutrients can cause muscle spasms and cramping. Make sure to talk to your doctor before altering your diet or taking any suppliments.

Answer by janey + 1
Lots of things cause back spasms, and most of them are harmless!
Usually, it is the combination of hormonal changes making your ligaments more lax, as your abdominal muscles spread further apart, and become weaker – Meaning that there is less support for your lower back, causing the spasms.
Yoga and good posture will work wonders :)
…Other times, the pain is caused by the baby’s spine resting against *your* spine. It hurts, and its called “back labor”
…Don’t forget the possibility that your babe is positioned in such a way that she is putting pressure on your sciatic nerve – That means sciatica, and it sucks, too! Usually, the pain is joined by pain in the back of the leg, also.
Unless you are having abnormal discharge, any blood, things like that – I’d say you’re in the safe zone.
Doctors say that regular doses of tylenol are OK for a couple days, many also recommend Arnica Gel as a very safe homeopathic remedy.

What causes an ectopic pregnancy?. I have a friend whom has had 4 ectopic pregnancies and she is wondering if it is a genetic trait or does something else cause it.

Solutions:

Answer by CiNcO
What Causes an Ectopic Pregnancy?
An ectopic pregnancy results from a fertilized egg’s inability to work its way quickly enough down the fallopian tube into the uterus. An infection or inflammation of the tube may have partially or entirely blocked it. Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is the most common of these infections.

Endometriosis (when cells from the lining of the uterus detach and grow elsewhere in the body) or scar tissue from previous abdominal or fallopian surgeries can also cause blockages. More rarely, birth defects or abnormal growths can alter the shape of the tube and disrupt the egg’s progress.

Answer by peacemaker

She may keep having them because she had one before.. this is what i found online…

Ectopic pregnancies can be tubal, abdominal, ovarian, corneal or cervical. Most of the time, an ectopic pregnancy is a tubal pregnancy. The causes for tubal pregnancy are not fully known. But these conditions can be indicative of a higher risk for ectopic pregnancy.

I am just about to go to doctor and have specialist scan for same thing. So keep question open and I will update this answer later and tell you what he says could be the cause, what to do and what to expect.
It is worrying…. I know that for sure!

Specialist said can be anything from irritation to the cervix if you can had sex to major stuff like placenta abruption.
He said at 7 weeks it is most likely either just a little blood from cervix or a bit of implantation bleeding that still around (if it is brownish).
So really he was not of much use to me – although I have not had any red blood at all so far and since the internal scan have had a little when I wipe… so maybe what he says about the cervix is right.

Answer by Spanks
I don’t know why exactly it happens for some and not others, but I can tell you I bled all the way up until week 10. Some people have told me it’s because of the increase of blood flow to that area and it’s so engorged you will bleed at the slightest movement.
And I didn’t just have a little spotting. Sometimes I would have full-on-bleed-through-the-pants-panic-and-rush-to-the-er bleeding. So relax. It’s normal. My doctor said as long as there’s no cramping there’s not too much to worry about, but she would always check me just in case. She said people don’t usually spot after 10 weeks because the placenta takes over.

Answer by Lucy S
yea ive had this twice to,once ai 6weeks then again at 15weeks.went for a scan and everything was fine, they couldnt tell e or find a cause? but said it happens often when i asked, good luck to you anyway!

AN ECTOPIC PREGNANCY IS SERIOUS: CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR.Answering The Question for DprJones www.youtube.com www.essortment.com www.msnbc.msn.com an ectopic pregnancy the beginning of life starts outside of the uterus. Because most ectopic pregnancies develop inside the fallopian tubes, most people refer to them as tubal pregnancies. Ectopic pregnancies cannot develop normally, only the uterus contains the space and nutrient rich tissues that are required to nurture a fetus. One other location an ectopic pregnancy can occur is in the ovary itself. Because the ovaries and fallopian tubes are so narrow, a developing pregnancy can cause a rupture. A ruptured tube can produce severe bleeding and can be life threatening. An ectopic pregnancy can occur anywhere in the pelvic area. It is estimated that 1 in every 200 pregnancies results in an ectopic pregnancy. Once you have experienced an ectopic pregnancy, if you conceive again you have a 10-15% greater risk of having another. Approximately 30% of women who have had an ectopic pregnancy will have difficulty getting pregnant again. There is no clear reason for ectopic pregnancies. If you develop one, there is a great chance that you have some sort of scarring within your uterus or fallopian tubes. This may have been caused by infection, a previous ectopic pregnancy, the use of an IUD or as a result of your mother taking (DES) Diethylstilbestrol during your own fetal development. If you became pregnant while using an IUD or if you

What are causes of first pregnancy miscarriages?. I have read that most first pregnancies end in early miscarriages. What are some of the things that contribute to these early misscarriages and what are things that should be avoided?

Solutions:

Answer by ♥one angel,and due Oct 2010♥
mostly it is chromosomal defects and so there is nothing that can be done to avoid this. But as my doctor told me unless you have had 3 or more miscarriages, having one doesn’t increase your chances of another

Answer by Starsfan14
Most pregnancies (first or 10 th) don’t end in miscarriage. But about 20 percent of all pregnancies do. There are some reasons for miscarriages that just can’t be avoided (problems with the embryo etc) But you can help reduce your risk some be drinking moderate amounts of caffeine (of two cups of coffee or less) no smoking, and no drinking or drugs.

you’ll miscarry and just chalk it off as a late period he sd. He also sd that alot of first pregnancies end in miscarriages bc your body doesn’t know it and tries to fight it off

Visit us at www.eastwesthealing.com Facebook http Nutritional coaching eastwesthealing.com The Metabolic Blueprint Program eastwesthealing.com By Ray Peat (www.raypeat.com) In outline, we can visualize a chain of causality beginning with a diet deficient in protein, impairing liver function, producing inability to store glycogen, to inactivate estrogen and insulin, and to activate thyroid. Low protein and high estrogen cause increased tendency of the blood to clot. High estrogen destroys the liver’s ability to produce albumin (G. Belasco and G. Braverman, Control of Messenger RNA Stability, Academic Press, 1994). Low thyroid causes sodium to be lost. The loss of sodium albuminate causes tissue edema, while the blood volume is decreased. Decreased blood volume and hemoconcentration (red cells form a larger fraction of the blood) impair the circulation. Blood pressure increases. Blood sugar becomes unstable, cortisol rises, increasing the likelihood of premature labor. High estrogen, hypoglycemia, viscous blood, increased tendency of the blood to clot cause seizures. Women who die from eclampsia often have extensive intravascular clotting, and sometimes the brain and liver show evidence of earlier damage, probably from clots that have been cleared. (Sometimes prolonged clotting consumes fibrinogen, causing inability to clot, and a tendency to hemorrhage.)

How long after intercourse that causes a pregnancy to occur do HCG levels begin to rise?. I took an HCG blood test yesterday and I was at 2, I was wondering if the date of intercourse was less than 10 days from the date of the test, is it possible that I am pregnant and HCG levels have not begun to rise yet. Any info is greatly appreciated.
To answer a few of the questions asked, the reason that I was tested so early is that I had a miscarriage just over a month ago and asked to be checked. I’m not sure when I would have ovulated because I don’t know how regular my cycles are at this point, if they are on track then I should have ovulated early this week. I am typically every 28 days like clockwork and conceive very easily, no mater what time of the month it is. In fact, according to the ovulation charts all three of my kids shouldn’t exist! Thank you for your answers, I will test again next week.

Solutions:

Answer by Luann E
They double every day after the day of conception.

Answer by gerkyr
They start to rise after implantation, which actually takes place several days after conception, which might as well happen couple of days after an intercourse. Count it roughly to be a week before you see a change, and 10 days are quite a possibility

Answer by Angela
Your hCG levels double every 2 days after IMPLANTATION, NOT after conception. hCG only releases after the fertilized egg has implanted into your uterus. They say to wait 14-19 days after sex to test for pregnancy. And the reason for that is because some women ( like myself) implant later then others. Also some women don’t know the exact date that they ovulated (Do you know when you ovulated?). From my experience, I tested 10 days after ovulation (I had sex the day before ovulation) and it said I was not pregnant. I tested 11 days after ovulation and it said I was not pregnant. It wasn’t until 14 days after ovulation (15 days after sex) that I got a positive pregnancy test. Which means I implanted around 12 days after I ovulated (13 days after sex). Which means my hCG doubled over the next 2 days and that is why I got a positive pregnancy test at 14 days after ovulation (Remember, I ovulated the day after I had sex). Anyone on here that says your hCG doubles after conception is W R O N G..it doubles after IMPLANTATION. I have done tons of research on this. So wait a few days and test again. I hope I didn’t confuse you!

Answer by SydneyMum101
Any hCG under 5 is normally considered a negative result.

For a pregnancy to establish the fertilised egg needs to develop and then implant into the uterine wall.

Once implanted, the embryo will start to interact with the mother’s body, and hCG will be released into the bloodstream (and urine as a side effect).

The actual fertilization and implantation process for a natural conception can take anywhere from 8-14 days, although it is impossible to say for sure.

Once implanted, a normal pregnancy will see an immediate and sharp rise on the hCG levels – usually doubling every 48-72 hours. The actual levels of hCG do vary from woman to woman – what is encouraging is not necessarily a high level but it’s the steady increase the doctors/nurses will look for.

Returning a negative blood test really early in proceedings (just a few days afetr sex) is not necessarily a sign that you have definitely not conceived, since pinpointing ovulation without the assistance of ultrasounds etc can sometimes be tricky. As an average, about 11 days after conception is the time when a test will first show a result – but this may not necessarily be 11 days after intercourse, since conception could easily happen up to 3 or 4 days after intercourse.

If you only had intercourse just 10 days ago, then a negative hCG result at this point does not necessarily mean you haven’t conceived – you may have only actually conceived 6 or 7 days ago and so the embryo is still trying to compelte it’s implantation process.

Was there any reason why you were tested to early?

In the case of IVF patients we normally blood test them at around 8 days post transfer, and we know there are embryos in there – we give the little guys a week to sort themeslves out and get implanted first. But a blood test 10 days after intercourse is very early indeed – wouldn’t really give a clear result either way.

There’s all these questions saying “We had sex and I think I’m pregnant!” and I’m just thinking to myself “WELL DUH! SEX MAKES BABIES!!!”. I just wish that teenagers could figure that out. As Melissa said, they need to become more educated about sex! If they fully understood what the consequences of sex could be (meaning accidental pregnancies, stds, etc) , then maybe they would abstain for a little longer!

I think some young people think that only some sex causes pregnancy. Only at certain times of the month, that you need to do it more than once, or that it can’t happen the first time, even better, if they guy pulled out it can’t really happen.

Good education is so important.

because the way these backass parents are mucking things up. That’s what’ll happen when you take sex ed out of school OR when the parents wont even tell their child even the littlest things about pregnancy/sex.

What causes migraines during pregnancy and what treatments are available?. I’m 16 weeks and 3 days and for the past month or so I’ve been getting migraines on and off. I’ve gotten no help from my regular doctor(s) so far, but I go to see my perinatologist on the 20th and hopefully he can prescribe me something, but until then does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

Most likely the new hormone in your system (hgc). If you have tried Tylenol, warm bath, getting some sleep. Then I’d ask your doctor for something,if there is anything you can take during pregnancy besides Tylenol,I’m not real sure on that.

I had migraines throughout my 2nd pregnancy. Here’s what works: take Tylenol immediately when you feel a migraine coming on. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and eating about every 2 hours (snacks and meals) to avoid dehydration and low blood sugar. CAFFEINE is the best thing for a headache. One cup of coffee or a soda isn’t going to hurt the baby but it will help you tons. When you can, when you have a migraine, try to lie down in a dark room to rest. Of course that’s not always an option so try the caffeine. It’s great!

I had the same problem with constant headaches that turned into migraines between 15-19 weeks of pregnancy. I am now 21 weeks preggo, and the headaches went away. It is caused by your horomone levels being higher than when not pregnant. You can’t really prevent them, I tried everything and it didn’t work. If a migraine came, I was stuck with it for hours. However, I found the best relief is taking 2 Tylenol and lying down in a dark quiet room. Take a ice cold towel or compress and put it on your forehead and over your eyes. The cold temperature will help ease the build up of blood flow in your head. Or you can take a cold shower, but that would not be comfortable. Good luck, I’m sure they will ease like mine did.

I had awful migraines during the first trimester, and the only thing that eased them was drinking lucozade. I told my doctor, and she prescribed me meds, but they had no affect. I don’t know why it worked, but it did! Try to get lot’s of rest and they will pass eventually!

I Recommend: -:( tinyurl.com ):- . .The main cause of hemorrhoids is the pressure applied on veins of pelvic and rectal system. This pressure comes from different habits that the patient has in his bathroom, constipation, diarrhea, sitting or standing for a long time, obesity, pregnancy or genetic factors. In the next lines, we will detail a little each cause and bring some solutions to it. 1. .Adopting a wrong position on the toilet seat is one of the main causes of hemorrhoids. Here is correct way to sit. . a person should follow when sitting on the toilet. . sit on the toilet normally, then raise your feet up on tiptoes and balls of feet , front part of foot, and bend forward with your elbows to your knees. This position allows the poo to come out with little effort, thus lessening the chance of hemorrhoids coming through the hole and reducing the chance of developing new hemorrhoids. 2. .Constipation is another cause of hemorrhoids. Straining to pass hard stools puts too much pressure on the rectum and makes the veins swell , like varicose veins behind the knees, . To avoid the internal problems caused by constipation, when you go to the toilet, take your time. . let nature do its thing. Try gentle deep breathing and avoid holding your breath, to put a little pressure on the poo to come out. 3. .Diarrhea is a factor that damages the veins.
