What are causes of high blood pressure during pregnancy?. I’ve never had it before (hbp)

I was sick recently so I am just starting to get my apetite back. I eat a pretty balanced diet. I drink lots of water.

Can it be caused by stress or lack of rest?

Solutions:

Answer by Logee’s Mom
High blood pressure can be caused by many things, but I would keep a really close check on it. Sometimes it is just due to your heart having to pump for two now instead of one.

Answer by Tiffany
stress, excess salt.

Answer by samantha
stress easily raises your bp

Answer by voorhees
yes. it can be caused my stress or lack of rest.. your heart will need to produce more blood to cater the need of your active body..

What causes weight gain in pregnancy?. When you’re pregnant, do you get hungrier and therefore eat more calories which is what causes the weight gain or do you gain weight no matter what, regardless of whether or not you start eating more/consuming more calories?

Solutions:

Answer by Brii
ur supposed to eat more calories but eat small meals all day not big meals. the fluid around the bby and the baby weighs some too. and alot of peoples body shape changes too like theighs n such

Answer by Ashley Adams
You gain weight because you need to eat more calories because your feeding two, toward the end though, the baby gains about a 1 lb a week so there is about 10 lbs there…but your also carrying milk. I think that 25 lbs is a healthy weight gain for pregnancy.

Answer by Angelique
It’s your amniotic fluids mainly!
Because all that liquid has to stay around the baby to give he/she the correct fluids they need! And of course to protect!

Answer by SMLYON
Breasts growing, weight of growing baby, 50% more blood in your body, placenta, amniotic fluid, etc. The mother only gains about 8lbs of fat which she will need since breastfeeding blows through calories.

Answer by kr
see during pregnancy its not just the mother who is eating. but the child also eats.there`s not just one person eating but but 2 people eat,so,you get hungry and you get fat/gain weight because because the child also grows inside the mothers womb.

What causes water retention in late pregnancy?. Does it happen to everyone? How can I avoid it?

Solutions:

Answer by Ocean Blue
Good question.

I have it even though I have taken measures not to get it like putting my feet up when I’m at my desk job and exercising.

I know that you can ask your doctor for a prescription to get compression stockings from your pharmacy. This is supposed to help.

Answer by Jess due 12/20!!!
It doesn’t happen to everyone but my doctor said to drink plenty of water to avoid it best as possible.

Answer by jen
It happened to me–badly!
My doctor said to try to avoid sodium and to drink plenty of water.

Answer by SE
I’m 36w5d pregnant. I drink tons of water, I don’t eat much salt, I have excellent blood pressure, and I still have lots of water retention in my calves, ankles, and feet. ugh. It’s always worse during the week while I’m at work, probably because I’m a programmer and have to sit all day. When I’m able to get up and walk around as much as I want to, my legs and feet don’t swell as much. Propping up my feet helps, but I really need to elevate them higher than my office footstool allows.

I asked my doctor about the swelling and she told me that it just happens to some people more than others, even when you do your best to prevent it. As long as your blood pressure is healthy, the swelling is just annoying – not dangerous.

What causes dark brown spotting in early pregnancy?. I just found out last night that I was pregnant and I’ve been having dark brown spotting for the past 5 days now. I’m just curious what it could be from and is it bad?

Solutions:

Answer by Teenage mommy to be
i think as long as its not like a full on period, you should be fine. just call and ask your doctor

Answer by All You Need is Love
If you’re early on, like 5 weeks and under, it could be implantation bleeding. Or it could be a mild period. Some women do get periods while pregnant.

Answer by ~Mom 2 Be~

I get that same spotting the day after sex.

Answer by Due August 26th w/ #2
Brown bleed = old blood. I would ask your doctor about it when you go in for your confirmation and first appointment as long as it doesn’t continue for more than a week or doesn’t get heavier or more red.

What causes women to be so emotional during pregnancy?. well i am 1 month pregnant and i havent really had emotional issues. yet anyway but i was just really curious on why pregnancy makes women so emotional.. thanks for the answers

Solutions:

Answer by ♥ Think Pink ♥
Hormones!!

Answer by Stacy & Ryan
It’s just the major increase in hormones. It’s completely normal to be emotional and moody so don’t worry! :-)

Answer by yellow fuzzy
Hormones. They suck. :-)

At around 12 weeks, my husband wouldn’t let me have a drink of his Mountain Dew (I’d sworn off all caffeine for the first trimester). I started crying, then called him an *ssh*le and slammed the door in his face. LOL. I still feel bad about it- the worst part is he couldn’t stop laughing, and I was in hysterics. I’ve never done anything like that before!

Answer by Baby Jayde’s Mommy
hormones. pretty much everything that happens to you while you’re pregnant is due to hormones.

Answer by mother to be oct 20, 2010
its the change in hormones, they’re all out of whack and changes through out the pregnancy. they really do effect the entire body, including your emotions. also every female is different… thankfully for my fiance i’m not too moody, never was, nor have i even had any pms symptoms. so its good for him lol. who knows you may not be as emotional as some females are. only problems i have so far is that i’m even more ticklish (which we didn’t think was possible) and i have these random laughter fits.

also to one of the previous people who answered, mountain dew is actually caffeine free.

How EARLY can you have pregnancy symptoms?

How EARLY can you have pregnancy symptoms?. I am possibly pregnant. I will be taking a test by the end of this week. My boyfriend and I are ttc for our first child. I’ve been on several websites and they NEVER give me the right information. I want to know, how early can you get pregnancy symptoms? How many weeks or months do you start noticing these symptoms? And what symptoms do you have first? Lately I’ve been having some cramps, but I believe its from implantation. I get my period next week, and usually I don’t get cramps until the day of my period.

Solutions:

Answer by Mason Tyler due Sept 15th!!!
USUALLY you will not notice the classic symptoms until after you miss your period & already know you’re pregnant (around 4 weeks at least).

I had extremely sore breats a week before my period was due, but that could have been due to PMS for all I knew.

Most women do not get morning sickness until between 7-9 weeks.

Of course this is all an average.. some women get it before they even know they’re pregnant, but like I said, on average, youdon’t get the real symptoms until you are almost 2 months along.

Answer by MyMelody
I always get really bad heartburn before I even miss my period. Then, I will experience sore breasts and a very bad back ache. A few days after I miss my perido, this all goes away and then around 8 weeks of pregnancy I get really bad morning sickness. I’m 23 weeks pregnant with my third and this is how it always goes for me. If you are getting symptoms you don’t usually get, you could be pregnant. Also, I have never been able to turn a home pregnancy test positive. I’ve always had to have a blood test to confirm all three of my pregnancies. Good luck and best wishes!!!

Early pregnancy symptoms?? How soon after conceiving to symptoms start to appear?. Is it possible to have pregnancy symptoms as early as a week after conceiving? Is diarrhea a symptom anyone else has experienced as an early pregnancy symptom?? Just curious.

10 weeks preggo,)

How can you tell the difference between PMS and pregnancy symptoms?. Hi. I have been having twinges and a few cramps, lower back pain, headaches. I have been very moody (picking fights), sore breasts. However, I have been monitoring my temperatures and at one point in the day they’ll be 97 something and then later they’ll be 98.8 or 98.9.

So how can you tell the difference between PMS and early pregnancy symptoms?

Solutions:

Answer by ѕιмρℓу συт σf уσυя ℓєαgυє
Sorry…but there isn’t a way to tell the difference between early pregnancy symptoms and PMS they are soo much alike. I would just wait until your missed period then test.

Answer by J HILL
You can’t tell. what it comes down to are the hormones they both produce are similar. And if you are having abnormal symptoms doesn’t mean your pregnant. Our cycles change as we age. So if we didn’t feel things when we were younger doesn’t mean thats how it’s always going to be. Or maybe the hormones in this cycle were greater than normal for whatever reason so it would cause pregnancy like symptoms. The only way to tell is a positive test or a missed period. People ask this question so often… the answer will stay the same each time lol

How many days past ovulation could you start having pregnancy symptoms?. Today I am 3 dpo. Last night I didn’t feel good. Today I have been kinda nauseous, the smell of speghetti almost made me sick. Im just not feeling good in general. Is it to early for these to be pregnancy symptoms? Maybe I’m just coming down with something…

Solutions:

Answer by emzaliciousx
I think these symptoms come along a little later than 3dpo. But you never know! My 1st symptom was sore nipples and period-like pains. I did a preg test on the day my period was due and it came out positive. good luck x

Answer by Jo
It takes 6 to 9 days for an embryo to embed itself in the uterus. Some women are sensitive enough to have symptoms immediately after embedding (I’m one of those lucky ones…oh yay) but most women it takes a larger amount of hormone in the system to cause symptoms and begins around CD day 30 or more.

During the 7 months I was TTC, there were four months I thought for sure I was preggo because I had all the same symptoms. But it turned out it was all in my head. The month I actually ended up preggo, I had no nausea at first I was just suddenly tired way more than usual. The nausea didn’t arrive until CD day 30 and it did so with a vengence…

It’s possible you’re pregnant. Would you already be having symptoms? Probably not. BUT never say never!

When would I start experiencing early pregnancy symptoms?. I was suppose to ovulate 2/13-2/16-if I was to become pregnant this month, around what dates would I start experiencing early pregnancy symptoms?

Solutions:

Answer by Jennifer
You should start experiencing pregnancy symptoms in about 14 days from your ovulation. If you miss your period, that’s your first pregnancy symptom. Later you can start feeling tired, and some women have morning sickness early in the pregnancy.

What are the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy?. I’m 2 weeks late, my tubes are tied and was wondering just maybe…but I don’t know the symptoms. Are they the same as regular pregnancy symptoms? This is the first time I’ve been late since my tubes were tied so I’m concerned. Anyone know?

Solutions:

Answer by just me
The most common symptoms and signs of ectopic pregnancy include:
Sharp pain in the abdomen or pelvis
Signs of early pregnancy
Vaginal bleeding
Tender abdomen
Diziness or fainting and generally not feeling well

you can also check out www.webmd.com

Answer by sheeboobles
When its still early, ectopic pregnancies present exactly as other pregnancies. The first sign that something may be wrong is the appearance of pain.

Here is some info from the following site: http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/pregnancy_newborn/pregnancy/ectopic.html

Pain is usually the first red flag. You might feel pain in your pelvis, abdomen, or, in extreme cases, even your shoulder or neck (if blood from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy builds up and irritates certain nerves). Most women describe the pain as sharp and stabbing. It may concentrate on one side of the pelvis, and it may come and go or vary in intensity.

Any of the following additional symptoms can suggest an ectopic pregnancy:

* vaginal spotting or bleeding
* dizziness or fainting (caused by blood loss)
* low blood pressure (also caused by blood loss)
* lower back pain

My advice to you is take a pregnancy test. If it is positive then schedule an exam with your OBGYN to determine whether the pregnancy is ectopic.

You still might want to discuss your irregular cycle with your OBGYN, especially if the tubal ligation was recent.

Answer by Wanda D
An early ectopic pregnancy often feels like a normal pregnancy. A woman with an ectopic pregnancy may experience common signs of early pregnancy, such as:

A missed menstrual period.
Tender breasts.
Fatigue.
Nausea.
Increased urination.
As an ectopic pregnancy progresses, however, other symptoms develop, including:

Abdominal or pelvic pain, usually 6 to 8 weeks after a missed period.2 Pain may get worse with movement or straining. It may occur sharply on one side at first and then spread throughout the pelvic region.
Vaginal bleeding that may be light or heavy.
Pain with intercourse or during a pelvic exam.
Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting (syncope) caused by internal bleeding.
Signs of shock.
Shoulder pain caused by bleeding into the abdomen under the diaphragm. The bleeding irritates the diaphragm and is experienced as shoulder pain.

Answer by hotnewmamma03
well the other people had good symptoms listed, however i have had an ectopic pregnancy and did not even know it until my fallopian tube burst. I didn’t really have any signs of pregnancy, and yes i still was having my period, as well. I started cramping really bad, and the pain was intolerable so i went to the ER. They gave me a pregnancy test which to my shock was positive, and then an ultrasound, and then to the OR. I’m telling you this, not to scare you, but to make you aware. Ectopics are serious, women have died from not getting proper and prompt treatment. Oh, and just to let you know, it’s not that i was naive or uneducated about symptoms of pregnancy; i am a nurse. So take a home test, if it’s positive and you’re experiencing symptoms, go to the ER.

Answer by ccawl
You get breast tenderness before your period is due it is called premenstrual syndrome

http://www.34-menopause-symptoms.com/breast-tenderness-during-menstruation-period.htm

Symptom Relief

There are a few things you can do to relive the discomfort of tenderness and swelling of the breasts.
Wear good breast support. Make sure to wear a good bra with support. Not wearing a bra can make breast tenderness worse, regardless of breast size. This is especially important during exercise. Bras/support will help to make breasts feel contained, helping to minimize soreness.
Exercise. Sometimes just getting outside and moving around can help to relieve breast pain. Making exercise a regular part of your daily regimen, can help to relieve many symptoms of PMS.
Hot or cold treatments. Some women feel better icing their breasts to relieve the pain. Others say heat and hot pads make a difference. Try them out and see which is best for you.
Ibuprofen. Taking a pain reliever right before your period can make a difference in relieving cramps, breast pain and swelling. However, it is not recommended to take a pain reliever regularly, so limit it to key times of the month. Note, that ibuprofen should not be taken if you are pregnant.
Change hormones.Check with your doctor about changing your birth control pill or your hormone replacement therapy if this applies to your situation.
Visualization and breath-work. Imagining your breasts in a weightless state, in warm gentle heat or something like that helps many women minimize the breast pain. Deep breath work can help too.

Diet and breast tenderness

There is no doubt that diet makes a difference for breast pain. Some foods are known to trigger pain for some women and not others. Review this list of key suspects, and try eliminating one at a time to see if your symptoms improve.
Salt. Too much salt and sodium is known to make breast tenderness worse. This leads to additional water-retention and swelling which then leads to additional breast pain. Try to eliminate high sodium foods from your diet at least a week before your cycle begins.
Fat. Studies have shown that women who limit high fat foods in their diet have a serious decrease in breast pain. Eliminating heavy fats and animal products can lend to greater overall health which should help to minimize all PMS symptoms.
Sugar. For many people sugar contributes to breast tenderness and to the ‘ropey’ feel that breasts often get the week before menstruation begins.
Caffeine. Many women complain that caffeine can make breast tenderness worse. In fact, caffeine generally contributes to breast lumpiness at any time of the month. It is especially recommended to avoid caffeine all month round if you have lumpy breasts, and for the week leading up to your period if you only have breast pain.
Move excess fluid from the body. It is important to drink lots of water to help remove the excess fluid from your body. And it is also helpful to take an natural diuretic to help the body flush excess water out.
Add B, E and A vitamins. Studies suggest that taking a multi can help with PMS symptoms and thus breast tenderness. There is a likely a link between the intake of the B-6 vitamin and body’s ability to metabolize estrogen.

A lady is reviewing herself in a mirror, and is pretty nonplussed. However, when her breasts get a little push-up and more ‘oomph’ one by one, she seems quite pleased with the results! It turns out Cacahuates has more in each package for this campaign. ads.thenateway.net Ifyou have any commercials like Fruit Rollups with the wizard, Heinz EZ Squirt with the Grinch, Squeez-its, creepy crawlers, kool aid bursts, kool aid pumps, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese with a mouth, or better versions of any ads I have, etc. contact me.

Is it normal to have sore breasts the next day after a massage?. I heard that massages for your breast are good for you, or something, so i started massaging them yesterday and today they are kind of sore, is that normal?
Yesterday they didn’t hurt or anything. And I’m 16, just started my period about a year ago, just in case you need this information lol .

I’m a virgin so pregnant is outta the question. :) Thanks youu !

yes

Answer by Nathan Jereoni
Well, it should be normal. Even regardless of a massage, they should be sore once in a while anyway, as you’re still developing them. But yes, even a massage, if you do it too hard, can make your muscles hurt. Not just your breasts.

Don’t feel concerned, nothing’s wrong. It doesn’t have to be because you’re on your period or anything, they can simply hurt from time to time, or the massages have been… well, relaxing your breast muscles.

There are a couple of things that can cause breast tenderness.

Pregnancy

Hormonal Changes. Sometimes this is caused by switching birth control pills or perhaps some other medication you may be taking.

Answer by Kathleen
You’re probably about to have your period. It should be coming up, and the majority of women have some kind of breast tenderness before menstruating. Even if you never have before, it’s not uncommon for them to feel full. Probably nothing serious, don’t be worried!

If I am pregnant, would it be odd for my sore breasts to feel normal again once I miss my period?. I still have lots of symptoms, but one thing I can’t reckon with..

My very sore and tender nipples (and breasts but more so my nipples) stopped hurting once I missed my period, just like they would had I gotten my period.

Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks!

Yes that happened to me. Have you taken a test? If you haven’t you should be able to get a positive result by now. Good luck.

Answer by Kori Hughes
This has happened to a friend of mine. Her doc told her that even though she was pregnant, her body still had a period (allll the way until she was six months!) They may have been sore from the surplus of hormones (pregnancy PLUS period) and the soreness may return around the time of your normal period next month, even if you are pregnant. Hope this helps(: I would go ahead and take a test if I were you! Good luck to ya!:)

Answer by Cindy D
It would be perfectly normal. Wait to test until a week after the bleeding started. Good luck!

i forgot to say in my video that I don’t have any pain from the weight of my breasts. Actually, I don’t feel the weight of my breasts at all!

The tender breasts for started at about 6 weeks… the frequent urination at around 8 weeks since that is when the baby and your uterus begin pushing down on your bladder… good luck and hope all goes well!!

Answer by TSM
Tender breasts before I missed my first period. That was how I knew I was pregnant. And sore isn’t the word. I felt like a cattle prod was being held to them.

I didn’t get frequent urination until my third trimester. It’s cause by pressure on the bladder from the growing uterus and the large quanties of water I consumed on a daily basis.

Everyone is different though.

Answer by samantha k
my breasts only got tender when me and my husband had sex. and i never went to the bathroom much until about my 35 week..but i had a small baby.

Answer by smug_comb
I found out that I was pregnant about two weeks ago. Right now I am about 6 weeks. My breasts were tender about a week before I took the pregnancy test. Frequency in urination occurred about the same time for me.

I’ve found if I eat less salty things the week before my period (even though thats what I crave) the pain is better. Not totally gone, but better.

Answer by MHnurseC
The best answer here is to be sure that you understand the fundamentals. The menstrual cycle has a purpose (and its not to make women miserable for a week out of every month).
When the egg is released from the ovary, so is progesterone. This prepares the uterus (and all the other female reproductive tissues) for pregnancy. This includes the tissues in the breast. Since this is something that does not occur with daily regularity, it can be uncomfortable. Try some tylenol for pain (aspirin and NSAIDs will only increase your bleeding when your period begins).

So, in response to your question, no there is no solution.

Why are my breasts tender all the time?. I am 39 yrs old, I was sterilised about 4 years ago, since that time my breasts are really sore and tender for the most part, the only time they seem to ease off is when I get my period and that last about 2 days, they then get sore again, it hurts to even lie on them, can anyone help?

yes. or you could be pregnant

Answer by JP
Sounds like pregnancy symptoms to me. Take a test now and to be sure take one when your period is a week late, because it sounds like it will be.

Answer by Edward M
Ignore the two above answers! If you are using protection, you do not need to worry about pregnancy.
Starting to have regular sex is a big change for your body as it is being flooded with hormones, something it hasn’t experienced before!! Also, depending on /how/ you’re having sex, it might be some physical aspect which is making them sore…so tell your boyfriend to be gentle!
I would imagine after a few more weeks you will be feeling perfectly normal again :)

Does every woman experience tender breasts in early pregnancy?. ttc…not sure if I am pregnant or not, kind of a long story to get into, but I have been having some symtoms of pregnancy like frequent urination, headaches, very tired, light cramping, lower back ache, and a feeling of fullness in my lower stomach, but I haven’t been having any breasts soreness, could I still be pregnant???
I haven’t been having any morning sickness either.
OH yeah if I am pregnant I am probably about 6 or 7 weeks. to scare of a negative result to do a HPT.

Answer by JuStRaCh
i did not. i found out i was preggo the day before my missed period. i didn’t get sore breasts until my son was born.

Answer by Little Engine That Could
I was so tender during my first pregnancy that clothes hurt me. BUT, not really tender at all during my second. Every woman and every pregnancy is different. It could go either way.

It’s probably pretty stressful not knowing for sure. Take the test and calm your nerves. If you are not pregnant, check into Natural Family Planning to chart your cervical mucus. This is how I got pregnant and how we prevent pregnancy as well. It’s super easy and tells you when you can/cannot get preggers!

Good luck!

Answer by ♥♥♥TTC #1 Miracle!♥♥♥
Well hun it sounds like your other symptoms do fit early pregnancy I know not every woman has sore breasts. Keep in mind also that the later your period is the more pronounced your pre menstrual symptoms tend to be so if you normally experience these things before your period it could be that too. But it sounds like there’s a good chance you will get a BFP!

Can your breasts be tender before you even get a BFP?. My breasts started to feel tender (not painful) at 7dpo and are still tender now 9dpo. Can this in anyway be related to an upcoming BFP? Or is this related to ovulation or PMS? My period is due on the 29th.
So far this has been my only symptom together with constipation, (gross I am sorry) which is extremely rare for me.

Thank you.

Solutions:

Answer by Lexi
Wow, it can be both. Your breast hurt because of the extra progesterone in your body (after you ovulate). If you are pregnant, the progesterone level should stay up, if you are not, it drops and your period comes. It can be either or, its too soon to tell. Good luck!!

what are other causes of brown early periods other than pregnancy?

what are other causes of brown early periods other than pregnancy?. I have had a brown period for two days now and i just wanted to know if anyone has had the same problem? my period was supposed to start on the 31st of august but this brown period started the 28th! i have taken 3 pregnancy test and they where all negative! what are other causes of this? and could i be testing to early? i have 3 kids already and i have never experienced this before! and i am not on any birth control!
thanks! i will!

Solutions:

Answer by Thrina
the “brown period” is just your a thicker part of the lining left over from your last cycle and it is completely normal you actual period does not start until you see red blood, if you dont get your period with in a couple days 4-5 of your normal cycle you should probably re test again to be sure or make a dr appt.

hope it helps

What causes back pain in early pregnancy?

What causes back pain in early pregnancy?. I just found out I’m pregnant and have been experiencing pain in my lower back. Is this also something caused by hormones, as many other early pregnancy symptoms seem to be?

Solutions:

Answer by Scross28
could be a UTI. I dont think that the pregnancy would cause backpain this early. Try some warm packs on the area.

Answer by Jags
Back pain will come when your baby is much larger and your joints and muscles are carrying all the extra weight. You probably just slept wrong or are a little more in tuned with your body right now since you are expecting and noticing the few little aches you may have overlooked before. Take a nice walk if you haven’t been told to take it easy by your doctor and you’ll loosen up.

Congratulations!

Answer by Jenn
I can feel that you are so happy. Hormonal changes maybe the reason why you are having a back pain. Back pain is one of the most commonly complain of the pregnant women. As your baby is continuously growing inside your womb. Your uterus will also expand.

Exercise, eating a balance diet is essential during pregnancy. Different yoga poses will help you in alleviating your back pain.

There are also things that can help you in relieving your back pain. Pregnancy pillow and pregnancy belt are best to lessen your back aches. Correcting your posture by using a posture brace corrector will ease the back pain.

Q&A: What is an ectopic pregnancy? causes? consecuences? what if It is detected at a early stage?

What is an ectopic pregnancy? causes? consecuences? what if It is detected at a early stage?. I have only heard that ectopic pregnancy is when the baby grows in one of the falopian tubes, right? and what if it is detected on time? what is the procedure then? how does it work? or…in order to save the moms life, you have to do an abortion?
so it means that doctors will remove the little embrion from the tubes…so…it is a medical abortion in other words?
ohh my gosh…yeah…it is so sad…but i guess there is not other solution. I just hope Im not pregnant yet…bouhhhh

Solutions:

Answer by pattywakcrab
An ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilized egg attaches itself inside the fallopian tubes or on the outside of the uterus.

There is nothing you can do to save the pregnancy in this event. A procedure called a laparoscopy will be performed to remove the embryo. This involves the surgeon putting two holes into the abdomen which hollow rods will be ran into the openings which allows for removal of the specimen by jaw clamps. The surgeon watches the procedure on a screen. This produces very little scarring.

Answer by sammy
Yes, in other words, its a medical abortion and there’s no way around it. My girlfriend had one and tried an injection the hospital gave her to break the embryo up but instead her fallopian tube burst and she was rushed into emergency surgery. Eventually as the embryo grows, the fallopian tube will burst, they can’t “transplant” the baby. It’s sad, but it could have killed my friend if she hadn’t already been in the hospital when it exploded.

Answer by Mel
Yes you have to have what I guess is considered an abortion or you die. My brother in law once tried for 12 hours to keep a girl alive on a boat when her tube erupted…she didn’t even know she was pregnant. She bled out and died while he was still trying to resusitate her. Not nice for her or for him. If you don’t get it removed you WILL die! No question about it. There is no way to make it live….to remove it from the fallopian tube or ovary or wherever it has implanted that is NOT your uterus, it has to die. Sad but true.

Answer by JAMAICAN GIRL
I had it 9 years ago and it was very scary. I had no idea that I was pregnant, I didn’t even know about ectopics at the time. I just had terrible cramps, I had all the symtpoms of pregnancy all at once, even breast milk! That’s because your hormones are so elevated, which is what they found out after I passed out in the hospital. I almost died without knowing what was wrong. They had to cut out the pregnancy from my left tube leaving me with one tube. I was 4 weeks they told me later. That was very alarming especially knowing that i wanted children in the future i was very worried. They say that it’s caused by some obstruction that blocks the path to the uterus so the pregnancy attaches itself to the tube.

But thank God, now i am 10 weeks pregnant and think it’s a miracle because it happened so fast. They told me that it might take a while for me to get pregnant because i only have 1 tube and that the ectopic is very likely to happen again. So as soon as i found out that i was pregnant, i had them do an ultrasound and i saw my baby just laying there in my womb, where it belongs. With a heart that’s beating so fast! I was moved to tears! Now i am still nervous and awaiting my second visit to the doc next week. And i can’t wait to get out of my first trimester!

Answer by sdc_99
I’m afraid an abortion will have to happen. There is no way that an ectopic pregnancy can survive and it can definatly kill the mother as well if the tube ruptures spontaniousy.

The continent of Africa is home to many tropical diseases, which cause illness and, in some instances, death. Tropical diseases wreak havoc on the social and economic growth of the continent and affect the health and welfare of those who travel.

To combat the affects of tropical diseases, and to ensure the health and safety of all Soldiers operating in the U.S. Africa Command operational area, the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, in coordination with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, has resurrected the formerly defunct Tropical Medicine Course (TMC) for the 21st century.

The original TMC was taught in 1941 and discontinued in 1991, after 50 years. It was resurrected in 2010 in response to the operational needs of AFRICOM and the Special Operations Command.

Once a six-week long course, it was converted to a targeted short course, and tailored toward non-physician health care providers. The week-long class is now a requirement for all medical professionals deploying to provide health care on the African continent, said Capt. Gabrielle Caldara, environmental science officer with U.S. Army Africa’s Command Surgeon’s Office.

Caldara, Sgt. 1st Class Roddy Rieger, the CSO’s NCOIC, and Staff Sgt. Darren Jones, a medical NCO with USARAF Headquarters Support Company, were the first Army Africa personnel to attend the class Sept. 13-17 at WRAIR in Silver Spring, Md.

The course focused on teaching medical personnel to recognize, diagnosis and treat a range of tropical diseases and ailments that can affect Soldiers who work and travel throughout Africa, said Rieger.

“There were a lot of lectures, seminars and hands on lab practices on things such as leishmaniasis and malaria,” he said. “We learned better ways to recognize symptoms and better ways to treat the problems.”

Among them was the Rapid Diagnostic Test, used to screen patients for malaria. The test uses only a pinprick amount of blood and “is as simple as using a pregnancy test,” Rieger said.

“This particular test allows medical professionals the freedom and convenience to test for the disease without requiring them to transport the patient to a medical facility,” Caldara said.

While Army Africa personnel attending the TMC appreciated the advances in treatment of many tropical diseases, Caldara stressed prevention and education remain key factors in disease prevention.

“This was a great class to understand the intricacies of these diseases, but in the end it all goes back to basics,” she said. “Proper precautions such as uniform treatment, use of DEET/insect repellent, adherence to proper medications and use of a bed net are essential.”

Sore breasts are a symptom of early pregnancy. What does it feel like? How painful?

Question by J.b: Sore breasts are a symptom of early pregnancy. What does it feel like? How painful?
My breasts have tingled here and there and I tend to have a sharp pain for a second, but I don’t knwo if that is what other women experience. Also, my last period was on 11/10. When can I find out if I am pregnant? I have received positive and negative results. The positive test was extremely faint and only had one vertical line in the plus sign (it looks like there are 4 veertical lines). This was from clear blue.
